These are the "American patriots" and "concerned Europeans" you're talking to on X. There's no reason to argue with computers. Just block them all and move on.

In one day, two politicians - Bolsonaro in Brazil and Vucic in Serbia - with ties to Trump and his family have lost surprise elections, thanks to high turnout. The rise of the international far-right is not inevitable.

That’s so dreary and dystopian. Why is it so hard for developers to build with some inclusion of British traditional elements? With lots of grey weather, the UK needs its beautiful traditional styles. They truly fight the gloom. This example is so homogenized. It could be anywhere depressing the hell out of people.

Why not convert the building to flats? The architecture is amazing. We need to be restoring and refitting our historic architecture, not tearing it down.

This is what billionaire ownership of the media means: Mark Zuckerberg’s Meta shut down the No Kings account for hours during the height of their protests. Meta suppressed accounts supporting Brazil President Lula da Silva in the recent election. Larry Ellison’s TikTok blocked advertising for a documentary criticizing Elon Musk. Fight back. Defeat oligarchy. Preserve democracy.

Speak to any hard-bitten older farmer around me in Somerset, or anywhere in Britain, and they will tell you that they grew up among fields teeming with corncrakes, grass snakes, hares, hedges full of yellowhammers and other songbirds, car windscreens splattered with bugs after the shortest summer drive, nearly all now gone. 98% of wildflowers, gone. Huge shoals of herring, cod, and other fish in the sea, a distant memory. Across almost every indicator, the losses during just one human lifetime have been catastrophic. The data is all there, as are the anecdotes. Britain is among the most nature-depleted countries on earth.
We are not the most nature depleted country. That's just a myth. We are one of the most human altered countries, i.e. one with the least amount of truly wild places. Our biodiversity is actually quite high for a small country, partly as a result of human intervention.

If this FT reporting is accurate, Europe needs to stop embarrassing itself. Zelensky is being asked to soften his criticism of Trump because some European leaders are apparently uncomfortable with the tone. That is extraordinary. Ukraine is fighting for its survival. Trump is making decisions that directly affect its ability to fight. Zelensky has every right to say so plainly. If European leaders do not have the nerve to confront Trump themselves, the very least they can do is tolerate hearing from someone who does. This constant instinct to whisper, flatter and avoid offence is not diplomacy. It is political timidity. Europe does not need Zelensky to lower his voice. Europe needs to raise its own.
Zelenskyy is already being asked to tone down his criticism of Trump. That won’t happen. Looks like the days of Ukraine pandering to countries that betray it are over. Good news

Ukraine spent 5 years developing their defense from Russia around Starlink, and last night, Musk cut it off to help Putin. This morning, the halls of power in Europe need to understand that Musk, Trump and Putin aim for total dissolution of democracy, and the primary target is Europe.
