Mom told him to go say hi, but he froze — just like I used to around Derek Jeter.
Cap noticed, called him over, and showed him some love. 🙏🏽 #RepBX

“ONE OF THE MOST UNBELIEVABLE PLAYS YOU WILL EVER SEE BY A SHORTSTOP!”
OTD 25 years ago, Derek Jeter came out of nowhere to cut off a throw from the outfield and nail the runner trying to score. The @Yankees, who were facing elimination, held on to win the game 1-0, then won the next two games to capture the series, and “The Flip” became one of the most legendary moments of The Captain’s career.

I admit to viewing the Yankees through my time around the Jeter-Rivera-Torre dynasty. Those guys were repulsed by losing. You would've thought Vince Lombardi coached them. It was truly something to be around a team that lived & breathed winning - and the pursuit of it - 24/7.

The 2009 Yankees won a championship right when widescreen started to become the standard, so here’s some highlights from that season in great quality
Baseball is different from any other sport. It’s with you every single day for six months, right through the best part of the year. It becomes such a part of your daily routine… and then, just like that, it’s gone.
Chin up, love you guys.

He’s not only talking like a player, but also a fan. He might understand it better than anyone. This is easily the best quote to come out of last night’s post-mortem.

Thank you, Ben Rice.
Absolute A+ season. He did EVERYTHING one could have asked for and more.
Round of applause for our STAR first baseman.
Down 2-0 to a 102-win Cleveland team that rattled off a 22-game win streak from August into September. Game 3 at Yankee Stadium, facing one of baseball’s most dominant relievers—Greg Bird steps up and saves the season. #Postseason
No surprise seeing the same Yankee fans who gave up on the season in June throwing in the towel again after a 1-0 loss in ALDS Game 1…
Unshakable on this side. #RepBX
