The Taiwan Economic and Cultural Office is not a "citizen". It is a state bureaucratic entity that operates as part of the constant subtle operation to assert Taiwanese sovereignty, a fiction that should not be reinforced by representatives of other sovereign nations. Duh.

How did PP interfere with China’s domestic affairs by talking to people from Taiwan? Even if one agrees that Taiwan is part of China, is it Chinese policy that nobody can communicate with its citizens without state permission?

Thai freelance journalist Nathaphob Sungkate says men he believes were linked to Myanmar’s military government tried to intimidate and obstruct him while he was reporting on migrant workers’ identity document renewals at an immigration centre in Samut Prakan. He said the men questioned him, photographed his Thai ID card and demanded to inspect his photos. Nathaphob plans to complain to a parliamentary committee and may petition the National Human Rights Commission. #ThailandNews #MyanmarInThailand #PressFreedom

How would the Thai government respond if Chinese officials at various levels of state and provincial bureaucracy were to sit down with official representatives of separatists from the South?

Rather than interfering in the domestic affairs of China by playing along with the Taiwanese, why doesn't the Orange crew take a strong stance on the Gaza genocide and demand the expulsion of Israeli diplomats and potential war criminals from the IDF? Maybe "Teng" has an agenda?

UPDATE: China Complains to Thai Foreign Ministry Over People’s Party Leader Meeting with Taiwan Office Representative A Thai Foreign Ministry memo that I saw reportedly says the Chinese Embassy believes People’s Party leader Natthaphong Ruengpanyawut, as opposition leader, had an agenda when he met a representative of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) in Thailand for a meal. The Chinese embassy also sent a separate letter to the People’s Party (on top of the one sent to the Thai Foreign Ministry telling the Thai government to ensure it doesn't happen again) and contacted the opposition party by phone. The party subsequently wrote to the Thai Foreign Ministry, asking it to “reprimand” the Chinese Embassy over the matter. I give the People’s Party credit for raising the issue through official channels, even though it has not publicly protested. China, meanwhile, is applying pressure behind the scenes. I am making this information public so Thai society can better understand and scrutinise the actions of the Chinese Embassy, the Thai government and the People’s Party. #Thailand #ThailandNews #China #Taiwan #PeoplesParty #ป #ไทย #จีน #ไทยจีน #ไต้หวัน #ปชน

Myanmar viewers question costumes in Thai series ‘Scarlet Heart Thailand’ The upcoming Thai historical fantasy series Scarlet Heart Thailand has sparked online debate after some Myanmar viewers said costumes and accessories featured in its teaser resemble those worn at the Myanmar royal court, particularly during the Konbaung dynasty. Produced by GMMTV, the series stars Win Metawin, Tu Tontawan, Nanon Korapat, Tay Tawan, Fourth Nattawat, Phuwin Tangsakyuen, Perth Tanapon and Force Jiratchapong. Adapted from the popular Chinese novel Bu Bu Jing Xin, the Thai version follows a modern woman who travels back in time and finds herself in the body of Fong Nuan, a woman from the fictional city of Wang Nam Lin. She becomes entangled in a struggle for power among seven princes, alongside a story of love and fate. Some Myanmar viewers have called on the production team to explain the historical and cultural references behind the costumes and accessories. An online petition campaign was launched on 20 October, urging the company to verify its historical research, clarify the sources of its designs and provide appropriate cultural credit. The claims and demands have so far come from some viewers, and further clarification and historical evidence from the production team are awaited. #ThailandNews #Myanmar

Thai police arrest driver transporting seven Cambodian migrants for 1,000 baht each Highway police arrested a 53-year-old Thai driver for allegedly transporting seven Cambodian migrants in Chon Buri province on Friday. The suspect told police he was paid 1,000 baht for each passenger and had previously been arrested four times for similar offences. The driver, identified only as Phaitoon, was stopped in a Toyota Innova with Chanthaburi licence plates at a U-turn on Highway 36 in Bang Lamung district. Police said two suspected vehicles had travelled from Chanthaburi towards Rayong and Chon Buri, with officers tracking them along the route. Of the seven Cambodian passengers, four had overstayed their permitted stay in Thailand, including one who had overstayed by 1,344 days, or nearly four years. Two others had passports without entry stamps, while one had no passport. Police charged the driver with assisting or concealing foreign nationals who had entered Thailand illegally to help them evade arrest. The seven migrants also face immigration-related charges. All suspects were handed over to Nong Prue police for legal proceedings. #ThailandNews #Chonburi – at Bang Rak, Bangkok
