Nobody should have to wait 11 hours to vote, but we’re all grateful that you—and all those in line with you—stuck it out. Keep making your voices heard, everybody. Our democracy depends on it.

Over the past few months, I’ve spent a lot of time listening to music with my family. I wanted to share some of my favorites from the summer—including songs from some of the artists at this week’s @DemConvention. Hope you enjoy it.

Everyone depends on the USPS. Seniors for their Social Security, veterans for their prescriptions, small businesses trying to keep their doors open. They can't be collateral damage for an administration more concerned with suppressing the vote than suppressing a virus.

Juneteenth has never been a celebration of victory, or an acceptance of the way things are. It's a celebration of progress. It's an affirmation that despite the most painful parts of our history, change is possible––and there is still so much work to do. nytimes.com/2020/06/18/opini…

Opinion | Why Juneteenth Matters (Published 2020)

It was black Americans who delivered on Lincoln’s promise of “a new birth of freedom.”

Being couped up in the house ain’t got nothing to do with the frustration of the riots of George Floyd being murdered! Black folks are tired of seeing black men being killed by police PERIOD!! @TheView

Happy birthday to one of my heroes — someone who believed our right to vote was more important than his own life. Thanks for making good trouble for 80 years, @repjohnlewis.

Kobe was a legend on the court and just getting started in what would have been just as meaningful a second act. To lose Gianna is even more heartbreaking to us as parents. Michelle and I send love and prayers to Vanessa and the entire Bryant family on an unthinkable day.
