Women are given many labels that men are almost never called: outspoken, bossy, hysterical, b*tch, emotional, overreacting, pushy, etc. @leannedz and I detail labeling and other disproportionate constraints women face in Chapter 2 of GLASS WALLS. amy-diehl.com/book

Neglecting social media a bit, mostly just busy.
Real. Quick.
You can't measure your work (or your value as a person) by rejections.
Especially folks from marginalized communities -
Often misread, misunderstood, & facing unfair barriers.
YOU are worthy.
Find your readers.💖

ALT Two figures walk towards a building. One says to the other: “I got mixed up and sent my grant proposal to my publisher and my science-fiction novel to the funding board. They both got approved. So now I have to write a novel about eel migration and build a fleet of telepathic crabs that fight climate change with lasers.”

Take courage. If you're writing, querying, submitting--rejections can feel so personal. Like a condemnation of your dream. But more often, the line between 'huge success' and 'never published' is a fickle one. It hinges on interpretation. It feels more like the flip of a coin.

I’m sorry but this is bigger news than Trump. Pope Francis just repudiated the Vatican’s 15th century Doctrine of Discovery. Entire nations still use this doctrine as the legal basis for the occupation of stolen indigenous land.
The power structures are crumbling.
BREAKING: The Vatican responds to Indigenous peoples and rejects the Doctrine of Discovery.
