TL;DR: “lying is ok because people lied about being female in MMOs to get free gear. Ignore the fact that this phenomenon has always resulted in the deceiver getting relentlessly mocked when their deception is found out.” Your “based chud vtuber”, sir.
I’m an antisocial nerd, so I’m bad at communicating. I asked AI to help clean up my flow of consciousness to be more easily understandable for everyone. This is the last thing I’ll say on the Ember situation… sorry it is long, you don’t have to read it: The old internet was built for this. Social circles, MMOs, avatars, and handles let people be themselves or be something else entirely. You could be a different gender, a different species, a completely invented person, and the space treated that as normal rather than a problem to solve. For a lot of nerds, that was the point. The character was the version of you that existed there. You didn’t owe anyone a tour of the body sitting at the keyboard just because they decided they liked talking to you. Ember said “I’m a woman” and “I’m not a man.” In my rule set, that was still the character. The whole point of kayfabe is that the persona speaks as the persona. If the character is a woman, the character says she’s a woman. That doesn’t automatically turn into a claim that the person behind the account is biologically female, any more than a male VTuber playing a catgirl is claiming to be a cat. I don’t have a problem with Ember keeping the female character. Online, the persona is the person you’re dealing with. The avatar, the voice, the consistent presentation—that’s the identity that exists in the space. Other creators invited that character into chats and talked to the character. I don’t think that created a debt for Ember to exit the character and hand over real-world information just because people wanted to be friends. No one has shown proof of coercion or Ember pushing for sexual stuff beyond basic banter. It was ordinary chatting under the assumption created by the kayfabe. From the older internet rule I use, you aren’t owed someone’s offline body just because they presented their persona to you. Treating the later discovery as proof they should have confessed earlier feels entitled to me. They invited the avatar. The avatar showed up. The rest was optional. This only looks like a clear case of deception if you already start from the position that the physical person must override the character once the conversation is personal, or that anything the character says about being a woman is a literal claim about the operator’s body. I don’t start from that position. It’s a different standard for what an online identity is allowed to be, not a shared rule that one side is simply failing. The online person shared with you about their real self if they wanted. I understand why they’re upset though. From their culture , they entered those chats under a working assumption that the presented sex matched the real one, shared things they say they wouldn’t have shared otherwise, and later treated the mismatch as a broken premise. That feels like a violation if you believe the physicality stays relevant in private online relationships. I get that reaction. I just don’t share the rule that makes the offline details something other people were entitled to in the first place. This is why I don’t understand it myself outside of emulation.

Lying to gain access to things is, in fact, wrong. Be it a group chat or an item in-game. The fact that Leaflit is fine saying “well people lied about their sex in MMOs for gear so you should be fine with a man lying about his sex to multiple women” is insane.

I’ll put this in simple terms: Ember was inserting himself into political battles that were exclusively women-focused, whilst deceiving women about his true identity. That is far different than faking being female in an MMO for free gear. One has far more serious social impact.

Stream will be a little late, Pleasantfolk! Apparently the power tripped at the house so I’ll have to wait until the internet router reboots.

I think its disingenuous to say that people inviting you to groups or dms is inviting the character and I do not think any creators think this way there are quite a few large female creators who are upset about this but they do not engage in drama so they will not say anything and that's fine to do, i defend people like that often the phrase "there are no friends in content creation" is a useful guard because by and large, there's a pattern of them throwing each other under a bus for views it it explicitly about deception; people playing nice with you until they think doing the opposite will gain them more public favor if you come from the position that everyone online is in character all the time and it's your own fault if you decided to trust too much and get deceived, then no one should ever have sympathy for you if you then say you've been backstabbed by a friend or someone you thought was a friend has wronged you how could they have? the internet is a tool for deception and you can never make any meaningful connections The whole point of being friends with someone is that you trust them more than other people. If you are actively lying about something to most people, that is probably something you should tell people you consider friends - if you don't trust them, you probably shouldn't be friends - if you do trust them, but still don't want to tell them, then that might be a sign that lie is a bad one I might come off as cynical because I've been burned a lot by people I trusted, but I still believe even in the trash heap of people willing to lie to further their own gains, you can find people who are genuine and are capable of being a real friend

The Knights of Levi consist of both ancient Levites and gentiles from the Reformation who have lost their way in life. As part of their penance they have sworn to destroy all demonic idols and worshippers within hell much like Moses’s kinsmen did at the base of Mount Sinai.

Just so that everyone is clear, I am, in fact, a biological man, and I have been male since birth. @MomoMorning7 is, in fact, a biological woman, and she has been female since birth. Transgenderism is one thing. Obviously as Christians, we tend to encourage people to love themselves as God created them. But openly identifying as transgender, and being honest about it, is one thing. Knowingly misrepresenting your sex, and actively deceiving people, especially after being invited into exclusive spaces and conversations predicated on the understanding that everyone involved is female, is a fundamentally different matter. And a major violation of trust. ***Especially*** for a man invading women's spaces. This is not simply a disagreement about gender identity. It is a matter of deliberate dishonesty, violated boundaries, and access obtained under false pretenses.

People in the comments are just proving my point in how slack the “based” crowd in their values because someone is “on our side”. Ember isn’t “on our side”. He’s a snake and deserves to have his misdeeds brought to light.
This is the damage that Ember doesn’t see he’s caused. So many people have been hurt and their trust violated by him and he doesn’t care. Instead he’ll go on live and a rage out, telling people to insert Bad Dragon products with barbed wire into themselves if they disagree.

I want to clarify my Thoughts and feelings about the situation with Ember Paradox. My biggest issue has never been that he just lied to me about his gender. Since I have come to realize that he is not only a man but has a fetish for forced feminization and being seen as a woman it recontextualizes EVERYTHING about our prior friendship. Every small interaction we had I now have to wonder if he got off to me accepting him as a woman and treating him like one. I NEVER consented to being used for someone else's sexual gratification like that and it disgusts me to my core to think that that's likely what happened considering everything that was dug up about him. Some of you may not see what I see because Ember was very covert about how he did it. He is admittedly a very smart person. There will be a level of plausible deniability that I cannot help that some people will use to paint me as a crazy person. I ask that you try to understand where I am coming from with this. I am heartbroken that my trust in someone that I thought was my friend has been shattered and most likely used in a way against me that I find to be violating and repulsive.

I wanted to make one final post to address everything so we can all move on from this. I had never heard of Ember until the last so many months. If I’m being honest, I still don’t know a ton about Ember. My only real interaction with him was in a small collab I was invited to a couple months ago by Celestium. Shortly after that stream, one of my community members reached out in dms to share that they believed Ember was a biological man pretending to be a woman. I was shocked, because I was under the impression he was a woman. The evidence was all very damning and I especially felt my friend Celestium had a right to know, so I messaged her on September 26th shortly after I received the information. I showed her the screenshots and asked if Ember was open about being trans, but she said no, and that she was under the impression Ember was a woman. I told her I did not want to collab with Ember anymore and how this made me uncomfortable. We all talk about how wrong it is for trans people to infiltrate women’s spaces and I had felt Ember had done that by being in these groupchats with women under false pretenses. Some female VTubers have also come forward and shared that their conversations with Ember sometimes took on a sexual tone. I think this is important context to consider, especially when discussing the trust and boundaries involved in these interactions. And since this situation began over the last day, other creators have also dmed me with their own experiences, as well as even more evidence that clearly pointed to Ember being a biological man. I didn't speak up sooner because I honestly had a lot going on in my personal life, and I knew this situation would bring backlash that I wasn't particularly eager to deal with. I also genuinely wasn't sure what the best way to handle it was. Some people have said I should have privately messaged him first. Personally, I do not believe I owed Ember a private conversation. He was already responding to allegations about his voice changer publicly and lying about being a woman both publicly and privately. I was not friends with him, and I also didn’t feel comfortable having a private conversation where I believed he would not have been honest. I do not appreciate being lied to. Pretending to be a biological woman and hiding your true identity is wrong, especially when you’re forming close relationships with other women who believe you are also a woman. Women share certain things with other women that they would not typically share with a man, and it is a violation of trust. Now that Ember has publicly come out and admitted it, I say good for him. I am glad he is now being honest about who he really is. I did watch the beginning of his stream and did hear him clarify that he is unsure if he is trans but that he would like his community to still call him she/her if they are willing. He also said he isn’t playing some other character, he is himself on stream, just possibly a slightly different version of himself. Regardless, I will continue to call him a he, because that is who he is. I stand firm that transgender ideology is damaging, and clearly Ember is struggling, and for that I do have sympathy. But I believe feeding into these transgender thoughts and calling him a woman is bad and harmful to his mental wellbeing. And I believe lying about who he was to people, both in public and in private, was also wrong. Lastly, Ember also has mentioned his book and how I got the context wrong. Personally, I disagree. My issue was not only that a 14 year old boy character was forcibly raped and castrated, then turned into a woman against his will whilst in a coma, but that it then turned into a romance novel afterwards. It is fiction and I was not trying to cancel him over the book, although I do believe it’s very weird (and relevant to the conversation) and I am entitled to feel that way. That’s really all I have to say on this. I do appreciate the support I have received throughout the situation, it means a lot to me. God bless you all.

Apparently, being "based" means extolling lying as a virtue. And people criticize me for being harsh to fake rightists.

My final thoughts on this whole Ember bs. It does matter that Ember is a man. He’s not on “our side”. He lied and thought it would never come out that he lied. He violated people’s trust. He damaged his image. God still loves him, but people are now wise to his antics.

JuJu misrepresented the DM situation; There were no men in the DMs. It was started as a women-only chat and then men were added later. The Christian women involved are justified in feeling hurt and violated by Ember. Strawb did nothing wrong.
