ea not giving bioware the rights back for their games does not shock me considering they did the exact same thing with alice and dead space, they leave franchises to rot when someone else could be making them. actual parasites thereβs no other word.

Gaming is dying.
And it's because of shareholders, billionaires buying our fav companies out and corporate greed.
the news about BioWare is heartbreaking for me not just because I grew up with and cherished their games, but because BioWare was headquartered in my city and I knew many people who worked on the games. Iβve visited the studio multiple times. This feels particularly personal.
This is another example of corporate greed and equity destroying everything - innovation, culture, lives.
Everyone loses in these scenarios except corporate executives milking it dry. We really need to collectively stop supporting corporate publishers whenever possible.

The video game industry isnt suffering because games are becoming too expensive. The video game industry is suffering simply due to mismanagement, greed, and short term gain. The wrong people are getting paid millions upon millions to repeatedly make stupid fucking decisions
