ATWIAD is where Prince did the bravest thing an artist can do: he turned left when the world demanded he stay straight. He traded stadiums 4 myth. He traded power 4 palette. He traded clarity 4 colour. If Purple Rain is the fire, ATWIAD is the smoke that rises afterward.

For this tour the first half was his nasty songs as Bob George, he was shot at the end and descended below the stage at the end of the first half. Then he rose up purified to finish out the show. It’s crazy to me that this was my first concert when I was 15
