I'll tell you an interesting story. Herod had just killed James the brother of John, and had Peter thrown in prison. The church was praying fervently for Peter's release. While they were still praying, an angel appeared to Peter and released him. Peter arrived at Mary's house where the disciples had gathered to pray. The househelp, Rhoda, went to check who was at the door and when she saw Peter, she went to inform the people praying for his release and they said it was a lie that it couldn't have been Peter. This means, they were praying for his release while still not believing that he would be released. They were praying for his release, he got released and came to them and they said it couldn't have been him. My point is, just because your faith is low doesn't mean God won't step in. He will do as he pleases. Be kinder to yourselves. God understands. His grace is sufficient for you and His power is perfected in your weakness. So boast about your weakness that His power may be made perfect in you. - 2 Cor 12:9 Having faith in that instance doesn't still mean that the person would not die. But faith affects how you experience death or life. Life is just a series of trials. These trials only to test your faith to see whether or not it is strong and pure. It is being tested as fire tests gold and purifies it - and your faith is far more precious to God than mere gold; so if your faith remains strong after being tested, it will bring you much praise and glory and honour on the day of His return. - 1 Pet 1:7-9
