@cgpgrey usually so much more low key. Coincidence? Or Hiding In Plain Sight…

What utter garbage. Twitter feeds me more and more shit I’m not interested in lately. On the odd occasion I see something interesting, i then see it fifteen f’ing times in a row🤦🏻‍♂️

This keeps being described as a sophisticated scam. It’s quite the opposite. The system that banks & others use to send genuine messages is totally unsophisticated and easy to spoof. @Scamwatch_gov @CommBank @9NewsAUS @abcnews
Ever received a message that appears in the same SMS chain as a trusted business like a bank, but it doesn’t seem right? It could be a scammer spoofing a legitimate phone number. Scammers can make fake messages seem real. Be cautious, don’t respond, and don’t click on any links.

@caseyliss @marcoarment @siracusa i’m certain the stiffening eyeball hypothesis is correct. Like Casey I have keratoconus. I’m lucky, though, in that my keratoconus started late and didn’t have a chance to progress very far due to eyeball stiffening caused by my increasing age.

Progressives require the wearer to not only tilt, but also rotate their head to find the sweet spot. Look into Hoya sync lenses. I have these and they’re great at all distances, and I got used to them instantly.

⁦@atpfm⁩ ⁦@_upgradefm⁩ @siracusa ⁦@imyke⁩ The problem with Machine learning. This irks me more than the f’ing scratches all over my Ceramic Shield 🤯

@sirucusa is right. I have clients with dead or dying spinning drive 27” iMacs who have been hanging out for the 27” M1. They are not happy. @marcoarment @caseyliss

The portable as non-portable is a bad idea economically and environmentally. IMO, there should be an M1 Mac Nano that draws power from the Studio Display and relies on the 3 USB ports for connectivity.

⁦@imyke⁩ what Are you doing? Fluorescent lighting is death. Get some good flicker free lighting lighting. Oh My God ⁦@viticci⁩ ⁦@ismh⁩ ⁦@_connectedfm⁩
Hi @Aussie_BB You’ve notified a number of users of a planned outage at 4am on the 9th ACDT You probably thought no one would care at this time of night, but are you aware this is exactly when Apple have their next keynote

⁦@Square⁩ what? why? I’m just trying to record a bank transfer. I only actually take payments in the POS app. Even then, I don’t have and will never use the headphone jack. I despise having to agree to allow access just because of hostile & lazy development
⁦@caseyliss⁩ ⁦@marcoarment⁩ ⁦@siracusa⁩ You probably mention this later (I haven’t listened to the whole podcast), I heard about this great service called HUVVER
“& the app is awesome“ said nobody ever about ⁦@binge⁩ on AppleTV Hey @binge devs, read this, take it to heart & stop being so inconsiderate to your subscribers (who would cancel Netflix before binge) Hypercritical: An Unsolicited Streaming App Spec hypercritical.co/2022/02/15/…
#askcortex #askupgrade is there a universe in which @RelayFM is acquired by Spotify. What’s the number $$? Is it an acquihire. Could @imyke stay motivated?
#askupgrade this’ll stump you. In a home with only iOS devices, how can someone do a local backup?

@siracusa (@caseyliss @marcoarment) you covet lab prints, but pick the right printer and your prints can last >200 years Check out some of the results from the highly regarded Wilhelm Institute’s janky website wilhelm-research.com/Canson/…

You have to pick the right inks too Most generic inks have awful archival permanence ratings

Generic toner on the other hand is generally fine. Most people can fulfil 99% of their needs & save a lot of money or consumables with a mono laser, using their iPhone for any scanning requirements. Here in Australia we run to Officeworks occasionally for the odd colour print

@busymac Can I request a feature. I’d like to use the option to show 24 hours, but with an additional option to compress (vertically) the night hours. While wanting them visible, I don’t want the hours between 8pm and 6 am to occupy nearly 50% of my screen.

And while we’re at it, an option to have a calendar be hidden, but show up in the contextual menu. The purpose of this would be to move items to a hidden calendar without turning on and showing the events of that calendar 😁
Replying to @AppleSupport
@AppleSupport hi, how can I create an AppleID for a four year old when all adults are already in a ‘family’ of six? It seems that it’s not possible. Does Apple want families greater than 6 to just get Android for these extra kids. That doesn’t seem smart or safe 😩
2
@gruber @imyke @marcoarment @siracusa @caseyliss @apple can you make some noise about this. It’s time that Apple stop treating a 7th & 8th family member as 2nd class. Allow more members, link 2 families for management. If it costs more, so be it. Limit sharing of apps if needed.
