#DailyLum one of the more interesting Showa era UY items in my collection is this padlock. Even comes with a key with Lum's face on it (only the one though). うる星やつら is even ll pressed into the metal on the bar 🤩 They also had Dr Slump, Popeye and Baikin-kun locks 🔒

I love the anime, but it's inferior to the manga (which is 100% Takahashi). The art and writing evolve over time...but "Boys like Lum. Men like Urusei Yatsura for what it really is. A comedy. "

The first instance i came across it was the 1989 Viz translation of the first issue of Urusei Yatsura (this once reads left to right). It was certainly popularised by Ranma though
