"State constitutions are easier to amend than their federal counterpart [and] are more responsive to local interests . . . . The federal Constitution does not list all rights to which we are entitled. It merely provides the baseline," wrote @CCSUVU's @laurenjarnach in a Sept. 28 @Deseret opinion published on the 250th anniversary of Pennsylvania's original state constitution. "State constitutions are battlegrounds over the meaning and extent of individual rights. It is up to us, at the local level, to identify, articulate and protect the rights we consider fundamental" she continued. Read more, bit.ly/4hoRrgd, to learn about the important role state constitutions fill in our local, everyday lives.
