If you ever considered running for local office and thought “Hmm. I’m not sure I’m smart enough.” Rest assured that no matter how fucking dumb you are, there is someone in office right now that is even fucking dumber.

Grew up in Missouri and have no idea what a St. Paul’s sandwich is.
The signature sandwich of each state

Where's that variety meats poster that @mass_ave had the other day? "Just eat liver." jfc
RFK Jr. suggests Americans can more easily afford groceries if they start eating liver instead of beef: "Most of the cheap cuts of meat are very inexpensive. You can buy liver or the cheap cuts."

One of my guilty pleasures is reading advice columns. Where else can you find gems like this?

I'm calling for a shut down of @ConsumerAffairs until we get to the bottom of whatever the fuck is going on over there.

Sure. We were digging a big hole. But the bigger story is why didn’t he take the shovel from our hands?
Texas Democratic Senate nominee James Talarico's viral hospital rumor has been debunked by time-stamped security footage reviewed by The New York Times — but the bigger story may be why his campaign sat on the evidence while the conspiracy theory exploded across social media for days. Talarico disappeared from the campaign trail for nine days in early October, fueling rampant speculation that he had secretly traveled to an Ohio behavioral health center. His campaign maintained he was home with the flu, and security camera images from his Austin home now back that up. But GOP strategists and journalists are torching the campaign's response as "mind-numbing malpractice" for not releasing the footage sooner. With Election Day just weeks away in one of the biggest Senate races in the country, the question has shifted from where Talarico was to why his team let the narrative spiral unchecked when they had the receipts the entire time. Are we sure this guy isn’t from south Saint Louis County?
Reconstruction of an Anglo-Saxon from the 400s↓ (He was found in Sussex, near Brighton.) What do you think he’d think of England today?

I see everyone is talking about the time change again. Some people want permanent DST. Others prefer permanent standard time. Why don’t we try having DST part of the year and then standard for the rest?

Just when you might think that things could get no stupider…
Kim Jong Un broke off his friendship with Rodman after the last visit where Rodman allegedly got super drunk and allegedly defacated on the hotel room floor. He can’t help Trump with North Korean diplomacy anymore.

Not gonna lie: I’m very surprised at the level of vituperation directed at @JATompkins over this column. I guess I’m just sorta naive.
Opinion: The leftist movement can spot a genocide from 7,000 miles away but can't see the tragedy on its own streets. We need to address disorder in our city. indystar.com/story/opinion/c…

In political science we teach that legislators will develop expertise in an area of interest to themselves and/or their constituents. Tuberville has chosen his lane.
Tuberville's evidence for many pilots being furries: an NBC report about pilots joking on radio, and a furry convention meetup. He also linked, without evidence, Kirk's shooting suspect and Trump's shooter to furries. He's the GOP nominee for Alabama governor.

I wonder if something like that happened to Krogers
It's very weird that Keith Richards changed his name to Keith Richard because the Stones manager thought dropping the "s" made his name poppier, and only changed it back to Keith Richards 15 years later.

Thinking of all the times I told my public finance students “don’t hard code values into your formulas” Wish I’d had this example.
Alexandria's bus system overspent by $3 million because someone hard coded their cash balance in the Excel spreadsheet and no one caught it

Seeing all the discourse about anthropomorphism reminds me of the time I explained power factor to a group of electricians using a hypothetical wagon pulled by two mules.

Milk shake duck, but a horse.
On Monday, a horse named Austrian Painter won a race in Indiana. By Wednesday, the horse had been renamed after the Internet figured out it was a reference to Adolf Hitler. “It’s a big stain on the industry” For @yahoosports sports.yahoo.com/horse-racin…

Probably hard to paint with an iced coffee in the other hand.
A city worker caught doing an epically bad curb-painting job in Laramie’s downtown district has locals saying they’re “embarrassed," and the city apologizing for botching the job. “The employee obviously doesn’t give a (crap),” said a local resident. tinyurl.com/2ctts5z7

Does this mean we’re not getting the money?
Replying to @BulwarkOnline
@BulwarkOnline did a supercut of all the prior times Trump said he was about to give Americans a $5000 check or whatever. It is glorious
