As I have been saying, "diplomacy" is just the cover for doing deals. "representing the United States" is the cover for the privatization of foreign policy.
The GRU hacked into Jared Kushner's iPhone. Dutch military intelligence (MIVD) then recruited a GRU spy who gave them access to the hacked phone. What MIVD discovered was that Kushner had access to two bank accounts --one Azerbaijani, the other Israeli --where Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Emirati ruler Mohammed bin Zayed deposited money. It sounds like a slightly far-fetched episode of "Slow Horses," but it's real. And it proves just how eye-poppingly corrupt this administration was and continues to be as its "special envoy" decides the fate of tens of millions in Europe in the Middle East. Simply incredible reporting by Matthew Cole, drawn from his new book on Kushner. vanityfair.com/story/jared-k…

In my interview with @nytimes, I said:
🔶 If the underground facilities at Pickaxe Mountain are attacked, Iran’s retaliation would include strikes on major #Saudi oil refineries, including Aramco facilities. The impact would extend beyond the region, with an immediate surge in oil and energy prices.
🔷 This #war has shown that higher #oil and energy prices are among Iran’s most effective tools for putting pressure on Trump, as the costs reach the American economy and people’s everyday lives.
🔶 That is the logic behind such a response: making a continued war increasingly costly for #Washington, with pressure on the Trump administration building as Americans feel the economic consequences.
