Texas is refusing to release basic information about its billion-dollar voucher scam.
The unelected Comptroller wants to double the program’s budget but won’t provide data on how the money is being spent.
If taxpayers are footing the bill, they should know what they're paying for.

NEW: Texas Comptroller @DonHuffines touts open government.
But when it comes to the $1 billion student voucher program he oversees, it's a secret.
His office said it was to prevent me and others from "doxxing ... Texas students."

Reminder that the republicans wanted no guard rails or accountability measures tied to vouchers….Democrats tried and they killed every attempt.
Texas won’t name the private schools and vendors profiting from state vouchers expressnews.com/politics/tex…

Tim O'Hare cut 92 Election Day voting sites across Tarrant County right before this election. He is currently in court for violating your first amendment rights, and has had residents ARRESTED for taking part in public comment.
My record is the exact opposite.
I have served with complete integrity, transparency and accountability.
I have an open door policy and am always ready to hear from residents when they need me.
Tim and his MAGA colleagues regularly shut you down during our meetings, and they have cut your polling places.
Now is the time to speak loudly by using your vote as your voice. GO VOTE!
Early voting is open NOW through October 30th.
Election Day is November 3rd.

Have you noticed that none of the statewide Republicans are running on their records?

Yesterday, I was proud to join more than 600 University of Houston-Downtown students who marched to the polls and stood up to Republican voter suppression.
They are opposing authoritarianism and fighting for democracy.
That’s exactly what we have got to do all over America.

Our public schools are on the ballot.
Our healthcare is on the ballot.
Our ability to earn a living wage and build a secure future for our families is on the ballot.
If we want a state where every family can afford to live, work, and thrive, we have to make our voices heard at the ballot box.

Multiple reports today and yesterday of voters fully passing out while in line and needing medical attention (multiple ambulances have been called today).
Volunteers and poll workers have been assisting voters who begin to feel faint to get them to a chair and in the shade.
These long lines are not going well for some people.

Abbott announced 12 endorsements from local sheriffs this morning.
By mid morning, we learned one of the 12 was currently under federal indictment for public corruption.
By mid afternoon, we learned one of the 12 said he never endorsed Abbott, but was listed nonetheless.
South Texas drama: Greg Abbott initially included Webb County Sheriff Martin Cuellar, Henry Cuellar’s brother, on a list of Democratic sheriffs for Abbott.
Abbott’s campaign says it was a mistake and removed him from the list online.
Martin Cuellar says he asked to be removed, noting Abbott endorsed his brother’s GOP opponent, Tano Tijerina:

12,000 Day 1 voters in El Paso voted in the March Dem priary vs. 2,800 in GOP primary; 7,600 didn't vote in a primary.
Confirming that El Paso's interest in the midterm is very strong. A traditional Dem stronghold in Texas, even as other majority Hispanic communities swung to GOP in 2024. elpasomatters.org/2026/10/19…

A really, really bad sign for Ken Paxton's campaign.
Harris County (biggest in Texas) had more than 104K people vote on the 1st day of early voting. That is a 65% increase from 2018 when Beto O'Rourke won the county by 200K and nearly beat Ted Cruz.

Travis County (D+22.1) now coming in at 110.6% of the 2024 total and nearly 200% over the 2022 midterms and there is still time to go. Doomsday numbers for Republicans.

ICE agents have terrorized our communities for long enough. Time and time again, they’ve shown us they’re willing to break the law and evade accountability simply because this administration says they can. Dallas won't let them operate in the shadows, and neither should Congress.

Abbott “has consolidated power like no Texas governor before him. One of the methods he’s used to do that is issuing executive orders and disaster declarations that allow him to shift funds, suspend regulations and award no-bid contracts at times of emergency” w/o #txlege action.
New: Since Texas Gov. Greg Abbott first declared an emergency at the border in 2021, he’s renewed or amended the proclamation at least 69 times. The proclamation has greatly expanded his powers without going through the state Legislature. propub.li/4B4su1r
