The federal law enforcement surge is not keeping us safe, it's making people fearful to be outside. For people who have no choice but to be outside, it is particularly scary. Unhoused people are being targeted and harassed *because* they have no homes, no other reason.
More than 100 progressive groups, churches, and unions are calling on @MayorBowser to push back on Trump's federal surge in D.C.
"History is calling upon you to lead... not to cower in the face of an authoritarian who does not have our best interests in mind," they write.

Housing a family in a shelter costs the District over 2x more $$$ than helping a family pay their rent through #RapidRehousing. Pushing families out of RRH before they transfer to a long-term housing voucher, is a short-sighted decision that will become a GROWING cost for DC.
