It’s Time for Prophecy Pundits to Start Questioning their Whole System of Failed Predictions. Prophecy pundits all go to the newspapers to say, oh, this, this is Ezekiel, this is, you know, Revelation. And they're always wrong. And they have been wrong for hundreds of years, right? And there's nothing wrong with being wrong. People can get things wrong. But when you're dealing with prophecy and God's word, that's a pretty heavy price that Christians have not paid. The responsibility factor there is when you've been wrong over and over again, that says something about your viewpoint. And People will say, well, yeah, they were wrong in the past, but now we got it right. You know, Hitler wasn't the Antichrist. Mussolini wasn't the Antichrist. Xi Jinping wasn't the Antichrist. All these different characters throughout history that they keep saying, this is the Antichrist, the Antichrist, and they're always wrong. And so my point here is that though you can be wrong about an individual interpretation, and that's understandable, but when you're wrong over and over again about everything over hundreds of years, I think it's time that you need to start reconsidering that it might be the system that is the problem, not the individual applications or interpretations. God uses pagan armies as his armies to judge other peoples. That is a common theme throughout the Old Testament. Classic one is Isaiah 19. It says it's an oracle concerning Egypt. And this was again during the time of the exile, the nations of— nation of Egypt at the time of the Babylonian exile. And it says, behold, Yahweh is riding on a swift cloud and comes to Egypt, and the idols of Egypt will tremble at his presence. Etc., right? Well, the idols didn't literally tremble. Yahweh didn't physically come on a cloud. What, what does that mean? Well, he tells you what it means. Verse 2: I will stir up Egyptians against Egyptians. They will fight against each other and against his neighbor. I will give over the Egyptians into the hand of a hard master, and a fierce king will rule over them. All right, what king was that? Well, that was Babylon. So there you have a classic example. Yahweh running in the clouds is clearly a symbol of Yahweh using a pagan army to judge another nation or a people. Matthew 24 is about the destruction of the Jerusalem temple. Jesus said so. Then Jesus leaves the temple and was going away when his disciples came out and pointed out the buildings of the temple. You know, look at these beautiful buildings. He says, you see all these, do you not? Truly I say to you, there will not be left here one stone upon another that will not be thrown down. There Jesus is explicitly predicting the destruction of the temple, and which we do know happened within 40 years, around 70. But he goes back and he says, your house is left you desolate. The house is a term that they used of the temple. And it's kind of interesting because God has— they would often call it God's house. But I think he's— Jesus is playing on the words here and he's saying it's your house now. It's your temple because God's not there. Don't forget, Ezekiel had the vision where the Spirit of God left the temple and he never returned. The whole point was one day Yahweh would return to Zion, and Jesus is Yahweh in the Spirit returning to Zion. But nonetheless, my point here is you've got Jesus saying it's all going to happen within a generation. And then he says the main component of what's going to happen is the destruction of the temple, and the city goes along with it. But that comes later.
