Sometimes you are just blessed with those picture postcard moments demonstrating mother nature at its finest.
I feel like this might have just been one of them, at Rickmansworth Aquadrome this afternoon.
The night works being conducted by HS2 flies in the face of council guidance that states noisy work during the week should end at 6.
HS2 describe themselves as ‘considerate constructors’, it’s high time for them to start considering the wellbeing of the communities around them.
Residents of Maple Cross, West Hyde and the surrounding areas already have to contend with a number of disruptive knock-ons from HS2, including speeding HGVs, congested roads and light pollution - noisy construction work late at night has now been added to that list.
The last few days truly have been a brilliant reminder of just how lucky we are to live in a village surrounded by greenbelt countryside, and why it will always be worth protecting! #MapleCross
Almost a year to the day since we were contacted by @GSTTFoundation offering to share information about their plans to wipe out the green belt around our village... and still no details.
So much for 'reaching out to the community' eh @KieronJBoyle?
Replying to @KieronJBoyle @JenniferTHF
If you feel that air pollution is a wider determinant of our health, then why on earth is your foundation "masterplanning" the development of thousands of new homes next to one of the UK busiest, most pollutive motorways - destroying our village's green belt in the process?
Replying to @ThreeRiversDC
... or, rather than showing movies, why don't you support #GreatBigGreenWeek by committing to protect the green belt in your local authority and outside villages like ours? Your Local Plan is suggesting destroying hundreds of acres of countryside surrounding Maple Cross... (1/2)
Replying to @FavColour_Green @ElaineCox11
See @ThreeRiversDC, @TRDCLibDems and @GSTTFoundation's 'plans' for green belt farmland around our village. Destroying hundreds of acres of countryside and natural habitat, to make way for new homes in places less than 100 metres from the M25. Scandalous. @snelmzie @gaganmohindra
