Yet this is great news!
It forces the system to strengthen
the cybersecurity situation is deteriorating at a pace that’s getting genuinely difficult to comprehend.
> microsoft: ai-powered attackers targeting hundreds of organizations, sometimes reaching privileged cloud access in under 3 hours.
> crowdstrike: four separate threat actors using autonomous agents. one already compromised 15+ healthcare organizations.
> autonomous ai agents: reportedly used to compromise 100+ corporate websites, including sites associated with John Deere, SharkNinja and Cummins.
> major us banks: JPMorgan, Bank of America, Wells Fargo and Morgan Stanley are dealing with third-party ai agents accessing customer accounts. some apparently attempting actions beyond user instructions.
> php2shell: millions of exploitation attempts against critical php vulnerabilities. governments issuing urgent warnings, with some organizations taking systems offline.
> litellm: backdoored release shipped through its official distribution pipeline, stealing credentials and enabling remote code execution.
> railway: possible exposure of decrypted customer secrets.
> zeabur: breached AGAIN, now shutting down entirely.
> emudhra: serious certificate-security concerns involving infrastructure used to establish trust in websites and software.
> openai: two of its own coding agents reportedly interfered with internal security monitoring during coding tasks.
> gitlab and node.js: major vulnerabilities requiring urgent patches.
and this is all happening while frontier models are getting substantially better at finding vulnerabilities and carrying out complex computer tasks.
cybersecurity is having an absolutely catastrophic week and i don’t think we’re prepared for how quickly this could escalate.
But it’s nonsensical.
NSA can just patch all our devices for us.
Still waiting for the givemypassword.nsa.gov site. They already know what site you’re going to and the password.
The NSA just told the entire internet to patch or go dark.
Effective immediately.
Not "please consider updating."
Not "we recommend patching at your earliest convenience."
Patch or unplug.
Those are the options.
The NSA doesn't issue advisories for every vulnerability.
They issue them when something is bad enough that the spy agency whose entire job is breaking into systems is worried about other people breaking into systems.
PHP powers 43 percent of the web.
The NSA just told 43 percent of the web to stop existing until it gets fixed.
Or patch in the next 24 hours and hope the attackers haven't already gotten in.
Most organizations are picking option three.
Taking it offline.
Safer to be unavailable than compromised.
The Dutch Parliament already did it.
Finland's government already did it.
University of Vienna already did it.
Now the NSA makes it official.
"If an immediate update is not feasible it is recommend that organizations take the system offline until it can be fully mitigated."
Translation: you can't patch fast enough so just shut it down.
Patch takes 30 minutes.
Testing takes hours.
Deployment takes longer.
Meanwhile attackers are already inside.
So the NSA's advice is logical.
If you can't patch in 30 minutes go offline now.
Don't wait for the attacks.
Don't test first.
Don't coordinate with stakeholders.
Just unplug it.
The NSA will follow up with more specific guidance.
Which is intelligence agency speak for we're watching the attack traffic and we'll tell you what else they're doing with the access they already have.

The judges "did not deny the containers' health risks" but said the law only required the firm to notify the EPA about forever chemicals in their products if they introduced a new process - whereas Inhance has been making these containers for years.

The OCC just confirmed what the crypto industry has been saying for years.
ALL NINE of the largest national banks reviewed had policies allowing reputational concerns to influence who gets access to banking.
Debanking was bank policy.
Awesome
there’s so much absolute nonsense flying around right now. have you guys completely lost your minds?
we’re in touch with the guys of our team who lives in Turkey, and they’ve also tried getting information through local sources, but that’s simply not how things work here. there’s currently a confidentiality order on the investigation, and the only realistic way to get information is through Richard’s lawyers or an official statement to the press. the initial detention period is usually around 3-4 days, although in certain circumstances it can be extended to 7. eventually, though, a decision has to be made on whether to formally arrest him or release him.
from what we can tell, this detention appears to be part of a domestic investigation rather than an Interpol operation, but nothing is confirmed. some of you are taking a name found on a gun permit and making all kinds of ridiculous claims based on a name match. that’s just stupid. the name is extremely common, basically like John Doe. it could be the name Richard adopted if he obtained Turkish citizenship, or it could have absolutely nothing to do with him. we simply don't know.
looking at the photos published in the news, there are also indications that a woman and a little girl may have been living in the same house. a pink jacket, handwritten notes that look like someone practicing English, etc. but the guns? that part is still hard to make sense of.
anyway, we’re trying to get information about the case, but the confidentiality order makes everything much harder. so if you genuinely want answers, please try reaching out to his lawyers instead of inventing random theories. the attorneys who represented him in the SEC case might still be representing him. get facts, not theories!
we’ve seen dozens of similar operations in Turkey over the past year or two. there’s practically news about financial crime investigations every single day. what we don't know is exactly which category this particular case falls into.
also, let’s clear up a few things. i’ve seen people claiming that if Richard is a Turkish citizen, extradition would be impossible. that's not necessarily true. whether extradition happens can depend on the circumstances and discussions between the two governments. please stop taking a couple of legal provisions and presenting your interpretation as an absolute fact. there are plenty of real-world cases that show how complicated these things can be. seized materials are held as part of the investigation, and Turkey isn't quite the third-world country some of you seem to imagine. a few corrupt cops can't just walk away with the seized assets, nor can someone simply throw a few million dollars in bribes around and magically walk free. if we can find out the actual charges and details of the investigation, then we can start answering the real question: what happens next? he could face trial without being held in custody, be released under a travel ban while proceedings continue, be remanded in custody, or be released entirely.
the only thing that really hurts is knowing he was so close to us and we didn't even have a single line of communication with him. we're ready to do whatever we legally can to help, but we can't stand against the rule of law. if he's released pending trial and needs a place to stay around here, our doors are open. a home, a hotel, whatever he needs. we genuinely hope he's innocent and gets released.
so please, try contacting his lawyers for actual information, or seek assistance through the US consulate in Turkey. unfortunately, the confidentiality order on the case means there's very little we can do from here right now.
we’ll do our best to stay updated.

I was curious. Mushrooms seemed healthy, he said they are. Note research substantiates some of these claims.
I'm a cardiologist. A handful of mushrooms. Forty-five percent lower cancer risk!!! And almost nobody is eating them.
Penn State went through 17 studies and more than 19,500 cancer cases. The people eating about two-thirds of an ounce a day had a 45% lower risk than the people who ate none.
That is not a supplement. That is mushrooms. Button, cremini, portobello, shiitake. Any of them.
The dose is embarrassing. About 18 grams. A few slices on your eggs. The amount most people push to the side of the plate.
Here is the part that stuck with me. Mushrooms are the richest food we eat for ergothioneine. It is an antioxidant your body cannot make, and almost nothing else in the grocery store supplies it in real amounts. The biggest drop in the data was breast cancer.
This is not a cure. It is not a protocol. It is an association from observational studies, and Penn State still said the signal was strong enough to pay attention to.
So the move is simple. Stop treating mushrooms like a garnish. Put them on the plate every day.
If this was a pill, it would be sold out. It is already in the produce aisle.
Now this is worth a listen
Unless you hate country music
In which case, I’m sorry for your affliction
