As Prince once sang, "All the Critics Love You in New York." The streets of NYC are looking more vibrant than ever in celebration of the release of Prince and @TheRevolution: Live. See a poster? Take a photo and hashtag it #princeandtherevolutionlive

Today is Prince's birthday! For our Item of the Day we are sharing Prince's personal travel bible. This is a 1984 printing of the New World Translation, given to Prince by a Jehovah's Witness when he was in the United Kingdom attending a service. It was used between 2001-2016.

From an early age, Prince had a passionate interest in helping others. In 1981, New York Rocker asked him what he'd do if he became rich. Prince said, "I'd give a lot of it away. Every once in a while now, I get some money that's a little extra, and I just give it away."

“I haven’t heard a funk song that groovy!"
In 2011, @Prince told Sharon "When I Come Home" was “One of the most funkiest songs,” he’d heard in the past 25 years.

This is worth a watch. The legend Ashley DuBose made a tune called "Make Me Black" that we play on @purplecurrent. A dedicated listener in NY was moved to make a video w/ her students from DIVAS for Social Justice for Black History Month. WATCH THE VIDEO

#AndreLeonTalley was at this iconic @prince @voguemagazine shoot by the equally legendary #HerbRitts. Mr. Talley provided a @CHANEL belt for Prince to wear for the shoot. Pics from the shoot were also used for his "The Hits" box set. Shout-out to @StaciaLangDsign for the tidbit.
