Angular on Vite, one file at a time.
Built on Angularโs new ngp preprocessor, the plugin compiles each Angular file when the browser requests it. That means you can start working without waiting for the whole app to compile.
And our first benchmark article is live! ๐
On a generated app with ๐ฑ,๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ฌ ๐ฐ๐ผ๐บ๐ฝ๐ผ๐ป๐ฒ๐ป๐๐, compared with the Angular CLI:
โก Cold start to first rendered page: ๐ญ.๐ฒ๐ฐ๐ vs. ๐ฎ๐ด.
๐ Template edit to visible update: ๐ญ๐ฌ๐ต๐บ๐ vs. ๐ญ.
Dev server memory after a restart: ๐ฌ.
These are measurements on generated apps, on one laptop. The article covers the setup, comparisons with Analog and @oxc-angular/vite, and the tradeoffs behind the numbers.

This is our first look. A deeper dive into how the plugin works and what makes this possible is coming soon. ๐
Special thanks to @chrispholder for the great work! ๐

๐ Introducing ๐๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฑ: our new open-source tool for agentic engineering workflows.

Who retries when verification fails? When should a human approve? And when should an agent stop trying?
Those decisions need explicit rules.
Hereโs what that looks like:
๐ Verification fails โ send the work back to the builder.
โ An approval gate is reached โ wait for a human.
The attempt limit is reached โ park the run.
Agents own execution. ๐๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฑ owns the protocol: each run follows only the transitions its loop file declares, with every human action recorded.
Built with zero npm dependencies, available under the MIT license, and accessible through a CLI or MCP server.
Explore the repo, try the default loop, and tell us what youโd build. If you find it useful,

AI can generate code fast. But when your app breaks, generic advice only gets you so far. What if your AI agent could inspect whatโs actually happening in the browser? ๐

Dominika will show how @googlechrome DevTools MCP connects AI agents to real browser data โ from network requests and console errors to performance traces. Less guessing, shorter debugging loops, and more time for the engineering work that matters. โจ

๐ฐ๐ถ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ด news for anyone working on web performance!
Soft navigations are now showing up in CrUX โ and you can check the new experimental metrics for your own site in CrUX Vis: cruxvis.withgoogle.com/
Until now, CrUX did not really support SPA's, it mostly measured the initial page load, missing what happens as users move through the app. The new experimental soft navigation ๐๐๐ฃ, ๐๐ก๐ฃ, and ๐๐๐ฆ metrics include those in-app navigations, tracking experience across the full in-app journey.
For those of us working with SPAs every day, this is a ๐ฏ๐ถ๐ด ๐๐๐ฒ๐ฝ toward seeing the performance experience users actually have. Go check your site! ๐
Quick caveat: the metrics are experimental, and Googleโs stable Core Web Vitals scores havenโt changed yet.
Same Nx workspace. Same formatting check.
Across more than 68,000 files, formatting had become a recurring cost in CI. Moving from Prettier to oxfmt made a huge difference, but a complete swap wasnโt possible: some Angular templates still needed Prettierโs parser.
So we built a hybrid setup:
๐ข oxfmt formats roughly 99% of the files
Prettier handles the remaining Angular templates
The result was a full-workspace check that fell from ๐ด๐, while keeping the formatting behavior those templates require.
The migration also revealed a few less obvious challenges around ignore files, import sorting, and replacing nx format as the workspace wrapper. Weโve documented the ๐ฎ๐ฝ๐ฝ๐ฟ๐ผ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ต, ๐ฏ๐ฒ๐ป๐ฐ๐ต๐บ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ธ๐, ๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ฑ๐ฒ-๐ผ๐ณ๐ณ๐, and a ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฝ๐ฟ๐ผ๐ฑ๐๐ฐ๐ถ๐ฏ๐น๐ฒ ๐ฑ๐ฒ๐บ๐ผ in our new article.

Most engineering leaders invest heavily in improving developer productivityโand rightly so. Faster build pipelines mean quicker feedback loops, shorter release cycles, and lower engineering costs.
But there's a hidden trade-off.
Some build optimizations can unintentionally increase the work the browser has to do, slowing down the experience for your users. That means the gains inside your engineering organization can come at the expense of customer experience.
In our research, we found that a build configuration optimized for speed nearly ๐ฑ๐ผ๐๐ฏ๐น๐ฒ๐ฑ ๐ฝ๐ฎ๐ด๐ฒ ๐น๐ผ๐ฎ๐ฑ ๐๐ถ๐บ๐ฒ in a real-world scenarioโwithout adding more application code.
Engineering productivity and runtime performance should be treated as complementary business metricsโnot competing priorities.
Our latest article explains where this trade-off comes from, how to identify it in your applications, and how to optimize for both developer velocity and user experience.

@angular's new build system is a huge win for developer productivity. Build times are dramatically faster, making the development experience better than ever.
But there's another side to the story.
In large applications, the new bundling strategy can produce hundreds of small @JavaScript chunks. While that helps the bundler optimize build speed, it can significantly increase the number of network requests during page loadโand those requests still have a cost, even with HTTP/2 and HTTP/3.
In our tests, simply increasing the number of additional chunks from ๐ผ ๐๐ผ ๐ฑ๐ฌ๐ฌ increased ๐๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ด๐ฒ๐๐ ๐๐ผ๐ป๐๐ฒ๐ป๐๐ณ๐๐น ๐ฃ๐ฎ๐ถ๐ป๐ (๐๐๐ฃ) from ๐ฎ. ๐ณ๐ต ๐โwithout increasing the amount of JavaScript or changing the rendered content.
That led us to a question:
In our latest article we explore:
โ
Why chunk count matters more than many developers realize
โ
Why Angular's new build system produces so many chunks
โ
Why HTTP/2 doesn't make requests "free"
โ
Reachability-based bundle optimization strategies
โ
How we built @rx-angular/rebundle to optimize Angular production bundles
If you're working on a large Angular application, this is worth understanding.
