CXMT is doing 4F cause it can't shrink, it's their path forward cause the other is blocked.
It's also easier to implement for them, because they are using large dies. Market responded to only the 4f news, but it's assuming the move is far more competitive than it actually is.

Please note that the only person who is disagreeing with the frontier labs and the cult of doom around them is Jensen Huang.
Why? Because he represents open source and know that the second we start regulating the way it's being proposed, Open Source becomes a legal minefield and the Frontier Labs can keep the competition from it at bay.
They don't fear super intelligence they fear Open Source.
