⚠️ALERT: NEAR Intents reports EXPLOIT that caused an $3.8 MILLION loss.
The issue came from a bug linked to its Omni deposit and withdrawal system.
near:native says all affected funds will be FULLY compensated.
NEAR Intents is a multichain transaction service that enables users and AI agents a shorter transaction process.
DEPOSITS and WITHDRAWALS on BSC, Polygon, TON, Optimism, Avalanche, Stellar, Monad, LayerX, Adi, Scroll and Plasma will stay paused for about 12 MORE HOURS.
The contract bug has been FIXED, and NEAR Intents and near(.)com are expected to return within about 1 HOUR.
The incident has also been reported to law enforcement, while security firms work to trace the funds.

Generating pure randomness is more important then people realize
Generating pure randomness is harder than people realize
$ICP World Computer has randomness natively built in
Internet Computer apps get random numbers from the network, not an oracle
Games and lotteries need numbers nobody can guess. Many apps buy them from oracles, and @chainlink's VRF is a popular choice.
On Internet Computer (@dfinity), the chain handles it in-house. Each subnet generates a fresh random value with every new block. Each answer comes from the block after the request, so no node knows it ahead of time.
The app does get to see the number before its users. For lotteries, internet-computer:native’s docs suggest locking in the rules before the draw.
No single node can steer the outcome, and each value comes with a proof that anyone can verify.
