God you yimbys are tiresome. You won’t be happy until all 5 boroughs look like the Kowloon walled city. Then you complain that real New Yorkers are getting defensive. Hands off our neighborhood, replant yourself in whatever small town you ran away from.
OMG yes, it must be great to be rich.
This is what its like raising a toddler in Brooklyn. The grocery store is a 1 minute walk. We go every day, and usually multiple times a day just for fun. They have those kid grocery carts and my daughter loves to push them. The cashiers all know her and interact directly with her, leaning way over the counter so she can hand them items directly. Tonight she asked to stop by the grocery store on the way home and bought herself an orange.
Our closest park is a 9 min walk, and there are two other excellent parks within a 20 minute walk. We go to all three parks regularly.
Her school is a 22 min walk, her doctor is an 8 min walk. We also live walking distance from a number of friends. I tend to stay in my neighborhood most days. Not only do we rarely take a car, I actually only take the subway or bus a few times a week.
“Trans inclusive” but age discriminatory, overpriced, in a shitty section of Maspeth, a 20 minute walk to the subway, with the landlord living in the basement. This is who is replacing families with kids and voting for socialists.

Since we're on the topic of crime: one of the residents in my parents' condo building had his bike stolen from the bike room, and of course there are no leads because the suspects were dressed in hoodies and black surgical masks. It's hilarious in a dark way that we as a society have collectively agreed to be surveilled and tracked every waking moment of our lives, while simultaneously normalizing criminals walking around in the equivalent of bank robber stocking caps over their faces.

NYC outlawed pet store puppy sales years ago. It caused a bunch of stores to close with resultant job losses, but we moved on. Now we're phasing out the horses in Central Park over similar animal welfare concerns, but "OMG, what about the jobs!" 🙄
"But e-bikes are more deadly!" Yes, we should ban e-bikes there and everywhere. They are only legal because they are used by an exploitative industry that promotes illegal immigration. 🚳

For those wondering why @sam_d_1995 is such an insufferable and shrill voice for bike lanes and “transit”, it’s because he is a senior staffer @FlixBus and the more bus lanes and bike lanes he enables will go directly to his wallet.
Why are we still building more schools though? pix11.com/news/local-news/lo…
Another great job by NYC and NYS officials driving long time homeowners away that are part of the fabric of their community:
"this will be the last [year] for the Raia family as they just sold the house and are heading to Delaware."

I work in midtown (and have for nearly 10 years) and I’ve been telling friends about how it’s deteriorated and everyone acts like I’m a sensationalist crank.

people who moved to new york 5 minutes ago not knowing that the stadium was abandoned for literally like 50+ years and the concerts only started in 2013, meaning most of the people complaining, as annoying as they are, have been living in the neighborhood long before the shows
