Not enough people have experienced compressed air launches
I maintain my position on this. This, much like compressed air and hydraulics, should be revisited. We have better understanding and technology.
Now if it still doesn’t work, that’s fine. But the concept shouldn’t be abandoned altogether.
After almost 20 years, we have decided to permanently retire X2. Read Six Flags Magic Mountain Park President Brian Oerding’s blog post for more details: bit.ly/46QV3l6
Ok so looking further at this thread, I understand now the context I was missing for this. Definitely smart design!

KI layout clears. I like the layout of both of those parks, don’t get me wrong, but having that central hub you can cut through instead of it being a giant loop you’re stuck in once you commit. SFGrAm is close, but loses out because its cut throughs aren’t as obvious.
Facetiousness aside, I am actually super stoked about that golden ticket! Definitely a worthy ride to get it, and I’m always excited to see my home park succeed. I am truly blessed to call KI home!
Well my WRX blew its engine bearings just before I left for Cali, so that royally sucks cause I loved that car.
HOWEVER: I am getting a sweet 23 Acura Integra, so life isn’t all bad!
BREAKING:
Following this success, KI to remove and relocate all current thrill rides to other parks. They will receive any and all new family rides meant for other parks to cement their position as the number one family park in America.
You know, this is actually a great point i didn’t even think about. I thought about it on the front end of things, but the maintenance side is an even better reason.
