A wild week of bug fixing, getting the last few MVP features in, and some SEO updates. A few more ideas to try for marketing next week but this will be the lost code to this idea unless something changes. Still proud of it though. apps.apple.com/us/app/make-m…

I hope this last week has opened some eyes. Vibe Coder or other, the systems you build are your responsibility. House people's data, it's your responsibility. Service you run is found to have an exploit, you need to patch it. Software isn't just Build -> Sell -> Profit

Has anyone checked in on SQL Injection? How's he doing? All I hear about is Prompt Injection and I'm wondering if good ol SQL is ok.

Cyberのニュースを読んだ後に寂しくなりました。日本の友達とITで働いてる人。希望を忘れないで。大変な時期も終わります。

Shift your perspective. You’ll be amazed what you see.

Working in tech is amazing and fun most of the time, but man, this week I'm kind of jealous of those who don't.

Other than the fact that AI helped find today's vulnerabilities, I didn't hear a single thing about it deploying the fixes. Seems like engineers are still needed after all.

Home lab patched. Onward to websites. Good thing there wasn't actual work to do today....

eMudhra ca cert is called: emSign_ECC_Root_CA_-_G3.crt. if updating your ca-cert package fails for some reason, remove that cert from you ca-certificates.conf and run update-ca-certificates -f or equivalent for your os. Stay safe and may your coffee be strong.

How can a company file for an IPO an astronomic proportions while losing $80B in 6 months. The math aint mathing.

Reminder to those building websites: Pretty animations and photos are worthless if your visitor can't actually find/see/search for the information they want.

I believe anyone who believes AGI is possible doesn't have a high enough regard for the human mind and what it can do.

A reminder I think everyone needs to hear. You can build things how you want. AI, no AI, some AI, it doesn’t matter. But build something worth building, not something that’s “just good enough”. The world has enough “good enough”.

We take the ease of things for granted now-a-days. Whether it's students or professionals, I've started to see it more and more while many care less and less about doing a good job. Full thoughts below but personally, I want to change my outlook. quietforgesoftware.com/Artic…

Difference would be that ffmpeg works well, does what you tell it, and is stable. I'm yet to see a good example of an AI utility that does that.
"LLM code is sloppy" Meanwhile, this is actual code in ffmpeg, one of the most popular libraries in the world

I hate to say it, But I wish Unreal luck with their full AI pipeline because either: 1. It will go amazingly well and prove me wrong and I can move on. 2. It will go horribly and a big company will have to admit AI doesn't replace software developers. My $ is on 2

Day 50/103 - italki challenge complete - 200ish vocab and kanji cards done - footage shot for two videos I have spread myself too thin 😂 but commitments are commitments. Also, forgot how fun segmentation faults are to debug.

I couldn't quiet crack top 500 for the @italki challenge, but still proud of how much I improved during it. Next time!

I've come to the conclusion that no matter what AI is said to do on any given day, I will continue to investigate what I find fascinating, being curious, and improving my skills. If I get to continue making my living in tech great. If not, I'll find something else to do.

If you ever want a reminder of how complex and cool computers are, look into how your system deals with time.

When was the last time you did something that was hard? Something that was scary or difficult but you did it anyway.
