If all you ever did was buy high-quality stocks on the 200-week moving average, you would beat the S&P 500 by a large margin over time. The problem is, few human beings have that kind of discipline.

A 2025 book, Bitcoin One Million: The Final Chapter of Fiat, by Fred Krueger and Ben Sigman, is attracting attention for its bold predictions about the future of artificial intelligence and employment. According to the authors, Al could become capable of performing work across nine major professions much sooner than many people expect. Their predicted timeline begins with coders in 2028, followed by drivers and teachers in 2029, doctors and artists in 2030, lawyers and factory workers in 2031, surgeons in 2032, and soldiers in 2033. The authors also suggest that advances in autonomous driving could eventually displace as many as 12 million drivers. But there's an important distinction between Al becoming capable of doing a job and Al actually replacing the people who do it. Technological capability doesn't automatically translate into widespread adoption. Government regulations, public trust, infrastructure limitations, economic costs, and human preferences could significantly influence how quickly these changes happen. And not every profession will be affected in the same way. Some jobs may become heavily automated. Others may evolve as Al takes over repetitive tasks while humans focus on judgment, creativity, communication, and complex decision-making. These predictions are speculative, not established timelines. But they raise an important question about how quickly the workforce could change. The future of work may not simply be humans versus Al. It could be about how effectively humans learn to work alongside increasingly capable technology. Do you think these predictions are realistic, or are the authors underestimating how difficult it will be to replace human workers? Which profession do you think Al will transform first?

GitHub Copilot is now inside Xcode's coding assistant. At this point, switching editors to use a particular AI tool is starting to feel unnecessary. The models are coming to wherever we already work.

Researchers found a way around ChatGPT's Lockdown Mode using a popup loophole. It's patched now. But this is a good reminder that security doesn't end when you put something inside a sandbox.

Dropbox is buying Tigris Data for $350M to expand into AI infrastructure. Interesting. Everyone wants to build the smartest AI agent. Someone still has to store all the stuff those agents create.

OpenAI is buying Pierre, a company building Git and code review tools. Makes sense. AI can already write plenty of code. Figuring out what changed and whether it's safe to merge is the harder part.

A weekend project with 10 real users is more interesting to me than another AI startup promising to change the world. Show me what you built. Not just what you're planning to build.

Meta just bought Conductor, an AI coding startup. Their cloud product is shutting down on November 20. This is why I get nervous building anything that depends entirely on someone else's platform.

OpenAI's AI found 948 ways to get root access in Linux. Imagine being a security engineer and getting that report on a Friday afternoon.
