QurAlis is proud to sponsor the Annual Northeast Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Consortium (NEALS) Meeting taking place October 27–30, 2026, in Clearwater, Florida, and online. The Annual NEALS Meeting, organized by the Network of Excellence for ALS, is the premier gathering for the ALS clinical research community - bringing together leading investigators, industry partners, and research professionals to exchange knowledge, drive progress, and accelerate breakthroughs.
Results from QurAlis' first-in-human Phase 1 ANQUR clinical trial of QRL-201 in ALS will be featured in a poster presentation on Thursday, October 29, 2026, 4:50-6:30pET (Poster 203, Session 2; location: Opal Sands, Ballroom).
QRL-201 is a first-in-class, potent antisense oligonucleotide precision therapeutic in development to restore STATHMIN-2 (STMN2) expression in ALS patients with the aim to modify disease progression and improve outcomes. STMN2 is a protein important for muscle innervation that is regulated by TDP-43 and downregulated in the majority of ALS patients. ANQUR is the first human trial exploring the hypothesis that restoration of STMN2 may be a suitable disease-modifying approach in ALS. Interim data showed target engagement, biomarker changes suggestive of an effect on disease progression, trend toward slowing of ALSFRS-R decline, and an acceptable safety profile in ALS patients. #precisionmedicine #neurodegenerativediseases #neurologicaldiseases meeting.neals.org/currentmee…

We extend our congratulations to Oswald Steward for his receipt of the Kavli Prize, recognizing his groundbreaking discovery that established a core principle in neuroscience: the local synthesis of proteins at synapses governs the development and plasticity of neural connections. Fragile X syndrome fundamentally interferes with this mechanism, as FMRP—the protein deficient in Fragile X—serves as a critical regulator of local RNA translation. Steward's research contributions established the biological framework necessary for comprehending Fragile X as a condition characterized by dysregulation of synaptic protein synthesis and for advancing therapeutic interventions designed to restore normal function. fraxa.org/oswald-steward-win…
QurAlis Presents! Taylor Gray, director, clinical scientist, at QurAlis, presented a poster on the QRL-101-05 Phase 1 clinical trial of QRL-101 at the 16th European Epilepsy Congress: International League Against Epilepsy (ILAE) held last week. Huge thanks to @EverythingALS for inviting QurAlis’ CEO and founder @RoetKasper to participate in its Digital Endpoints & Biomarkers Summit on July 26–27. Kasper was a featured panelist in the “Accelerating Target Discovery and Translation in the Age of AI” session. It was a robust, engaging discussion about how AI and multimodal data can strengthen target validation and speed the path to new ALS treatments. The discussion also included how the collaboration with the Allen Brain Institute provides a unique opportunity to work together to build an unprecedented multi-layered analysis of ALS in the brain and spinal cord of patients. This project can provide us with an understanding about what causes TDP-43 pathology which will help inform the development of biomarkers and the next generation of therapies for ALS aimed at prevention. #precisionmedicine #neurodegenerativediseases #neurologicaldiseases
Panel co-chairs: Fiona Elwood, vp, DAS leader neurodegeneration, neuroscience, Johnson & Johnson and Susan Catalano, Everything ALS board member, CSO. In addition to Kasper, panelists included: Ed Lein, EVP and director, Brain Health Accelerator, Allen Institute for Brain Science; Walter Koroshetz, former director, National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke; Oren Levy, medical director, early clinical development, Regeneron Pharmaceuticals; Brian Winger, associate VP, digital health R&D, Eli Lilly & Company; James Gorman, sr. director of translational R&D, Wyss Institute at Harvard; and Angela Genge, director of clinical research and the Centre for Innovative Medicine, McGill University and CMO, AL-S Pharma.
Today marks #WorldFragileXDay. QurAlis stands with the worldwide #FragileX syndrome (#FXS) community to honor those living with FXS, along with their families and friends affected by this condition. We aim to raise awareness while progressing research toward effective #precisionmedicine treatments and, ultimately, a cure. FXS is a rare genetic #neurologicaldisease recognized as the primary inherited cause of intellectual disability and a known contributor to #autism. Currently, there are no therapies available that modify the disease.
