Day 365: One Year Sober A year sober. I look back at my time drinking and honestly— I never thought I’d become an alcoholic. That wasn’t in the plans. I was just having fun. No harm, no foul. It was social. It was how I unwound. But for me… once I started, there was no stopping. It was all or nothing. I think I knew long before I quit. But I couldn’t envision life without the party. It was where I felt free. Where I felt like me. But as you grow—if you’re lucky— you start to see what you’re leaving on the table. The moments you’re missing. The life you’re not really living. And I wanted more. A family. A future. A life worth showing up for. To choose those things… was to choose courage. Because giving up everything I knew for the unknown— that was the bravest thing I’ve ever done. So today, I’m signing off from the Day Posts. They’ve served their purpose. And just like life, it’s time to move forward. Thank you— to each and every one of you who walked beside me on this path. I needed every step. Every word. Every ounce of support. And if you’re out there struggling, wondering if you can do it too— you can. You’re not alone. You are loved. And you are capable of so much more than you know. One Step. One Punch.
