Celebrating 2,413 digital skills graduates🎓
Over the past month, out-of-school adolescents across 14 districts and 14 Airtel- connected ATC centres have been building and strengthening the digital skills they need to navigate today’s digital world with confidence.
Through the “Strengthening Digital Learning Ecosystems for In and Out-of-School Children and Adolescents in Uganda”programme, and under the Airtel Africa-@UNICEFUganda partnership, @8TechConsults has equipped out-of-school adolescents with practical digital skills, using the adaptable Digital Skills Training Toolkit as a key learning resource to guide training and hands-on practice.
From computer basics and Microsoft Word and Excel to information processing, digital safety and emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, learners have gained knowledge they can apply in their everyday lives to improve their livelihoods.
As implementing partners, we are proud to say that today, these learners carry the confidence to utilize the skills gained to solve everyday challenges, explore opportunities and the potential to shape their futures in an increasingly digital world.
As we celebrate this achievement, we're equally focused on what comes next. Graduates can continue developing their skills through the public libraries across the country for free and free online courses on elearning.8learning.org/enro…
🤝Special thanks to Airtel Africa Foundation and @UNICEFUganda for their partnership and commitment to expanding digital learning opportunities for out-of-school adolescents.
🎊To every learner who embraced the opportunity to learn, showed up and participated thank you for being part of this journey. Keep practicing, keep creating and put your newly attained skills to work!

Institutional corruption survives because institutions often attack the messenger before examining the message. As many express shock over the digital number plate saga, remember that @amronaldo publicly raised concerns years ago. Many dismissed him as a bitter man, a hater, or a nuisance. Today, we act as though this reality arrived overnight. A nation that silences those who question power should never be surprised when accountability arrives late and at a far greater cost.
Our greatest weakness is not corruption itself. It is our habit of sacrificing truth-tellers to protect systems that later fail us all. Strong nations do not fear uncomfortable voices. They investigate them. Weak institutions personalise criticism instead of confronting it. History is unforgiving. It remembers those who warned, those who ignored, and those who applauded the silence.

General Otafiire said the very things he said in parliament yesterday back when he gave a talk at @ug_lawsociety. Almost word for word.
Why have his utterances on the floor of @Parliament_Ug suddenly touched off a firestorm?

🎥: Yesterday at Entebbe Public Library in Kampala District, the digital skills training for out of school adolescents took an inspiring turn as our CEO, @judlub joined the learners for a mindset session.
His message went beyond the technical skills being taught. From WhatsApp to TikTok and other digital platforms, learners were encouraged to think about how the tools they already use can also support business, creativity and income-generating opportunities.
LESSON: Sometimes, you need to start by making more of what you already have.

As part of the @UNICEFUganda -@Airtel_Ug partnership, @UNICEFUganda provided digital devices including computers while @Airtel_Ug provided internet connectivity to various public libraries across the country.
From today 21st September to 21st October, 2026, our teams will be leveraging on these resources to provide digital skills training in the public libraries across the four regions of the country under the “Strengthening Digital Learning Ecosystem” project.
Currently at Pallisa Public Library, Lira Public Library, Kabale Public Library and Kitengesa Community Library, today’s sessions are focusing on two key areas: Digital Foundations and Information Processing, helping adolescents build essential skills for navigating, finding, understanding and working with information in the digital world.
With a target of reaching at least 2,500 out-of-school adolescents across Uganda, the programme aims to create more opportunities for young people to learn, build skills and engage with the digital world.
At the end of the trainings, each public library will be stocked with Digital Skills Facilitator Training Guide and Learner Handout, courtesy of @UNICEFUganda to enhance the acquisition of digital skills and literacy for out-of-school adolescents across the country.
