I am so over this bullshit. If the AFL is going to turn this stupid incident into a pedestal of morality to lecture men about their integrity & values towards women, then that'll be the straw that breaks the camel's back for me. The stupid decisions of five men and the manipulative actions of three women of questionable character is not the hangsmen's noose they think it is to put around the collective neck of the male species. I've never disrespected women, I've never engaged in violence of any kind against women, I've never paid any women to service my sexual needs, and I've always been totally respectful in any relationships I have with a woman. Like millions of other men I had those values and morals drilled into me by my parents and older siblings. The last class of people I'm taking lectures from on this subject is elite athletes, celebrities, the media and our fucking politicians. Considering their collective track record over my lifetime, it would be the height of hypocrisy and a total lack of self awareness for any of them to lecture any other section of the community about respectful relationships. They can't even identify what is & what isn't a women for their competition eligibility FFS. If they go down that road to lecture men, then fuck the AFL & any other elite sport that consider that course of action. If they want to lecture ppl, then keep it in house and lecture each other. It's your culture that's a mess not ours. I don't need the lectures, the moralising, the virtue signalling, the victimhood, the wokeism. I don't pay my hard earned dollars to turn on a tv set to have AFL individuals tell me how to live my life. I turn on the TV set to watch high level athletic competition and to be entertained. Your not anybody's role models, your athletes with the god given ability to compete at higher levels than most. That's it, that's all there is. Stop the lectures & associated bullshit or I will stop watching & supporting & I'll go find another sport/recreation without this bullshit. Get your own house in order AFL, mine is perfectly fine.

Today marks 12 years since the front page of The Australian newspaper warned that plain packaging was driving a substitution to cheaper cigarettes. That and excessive excise now means that criminals control 80% of the market today. Slow clap people slow clap.

Summing up the British approach to Iran here: 1) US asks to use British bases, we say no. 2) Tell everyone we weren't involved and hope they leave us alone. 3) oh dear, they didn't leave us alone. They're shooting missiles at us. 4) claim that the only way to stop this and protect British citizens is to destroy the missiles at source. 5) allow the Americans to use our bases to destroy the missiles at source. 6) refuse to help destroy the missiles at source, even though we just said destroying them at source is the only way to end the threat to British citizens. 7) tell everyone we're not involved and hope they'll leave us alone.

This week has been the tale of three interest rate changes. The day before the RBA lifted interest rates for families, the Labor Government announced it would use taxpayer funding to cut interest rates on EV loans provided by Hyundai and Kia. And the day after the RBA’s rate hike, Labor announced its new Net Zero Fund would hand out loans to massive renewable companies at a reduced interest rate. So this week there have been two interest rate cuts for Labor’s friends who are obsessed with net zero, and an interest rate hike for Aussie families that Labor says it can do nothing about. More in the @couriermail today.

Here's why everyday Australians should be worried about our decades of gross economic mismanagement. GDP per capita has fallen in 9 of the last 11 quarters. That's the longest stretch of declining living standards since records began in 1973. The only thing keeping headline GDP positive is MASS IMMIGRATION. Your actual standard of living is going backwards. Business investment is at its lowest share of GDP in 40 years. Productivity growth is zero. The economy is already weak. THE HOUSEHOLD DEBT BOMB Australia has the 5th highest household debt-to-income ratio in the developed world. 211% of income. Household debt sits at 120% of GDP. 1.6 million mortgage holders are classified as "at risk" of mortgage stress. The median household now needs 45-50% of income just for mortgage repayments. 97% OF MORTGAGES ARE VARIABLE RATE Our politicians have been using debt & population growth to mask their incompetence. All this has done is bought time, time which has run out. Post details credit: Tim Beevers

Grok says No, there is no direct criticism or explicit mention of Australian troops in Donald Trump's exact words. Trump's quoted remarks from his January 2026 Fox News interview (and related statements) specifically targeted NATO allies and NATO troops:

I was $35,000 in debt. Starting over with a broken mower, a rusted trailer, and $24 to my name. That $24 went into printing flyers. My wife and I walked the streets for days, stuffing letterboxes and hoping the phone would ring. It did. Work started to trickle in. Slowly. Then one morning, both my mower and brush cutter broke down. And because it was the middle of the Australian summer, almost every shop was closed. I finally found one open. It was packed. The salesman was rushed. Quoted me, rang it up, took my payment. I loaded up the gear, walked out to the car and noticed something. He’d undercharged me. By $100. Every argument ran through my head: The sale was final. I’d never be back. They could afford it. I needed the money more than they did. But I couldn’t shake it. If I were going to succeed, it couldn’t be built on a dishonest win. So I drove back. Handed over the $100. That same afternoon, a client I barely knew offered to print flyers for me, out of the blue. He picked the value. It was almost exactly $100. That moment stayed with me. Not because of the money. But because it reminded me that character is the real foundation of success. If you cut corners when no one’s looking, you don’t just short-change others. You short-change yourself.
