The calendar might say fall, but Newfoundland and Labrador likes to keep us guessing. If you’re planning to spend time outdoors this weekend, be ready for conditions that can change without warning. Temperatures can drop quickly, the nights are especially cold and the days are getting shorter. Whether you’re heading out for a hike, a hunting weekend or riding the trails on your dirtbike, dress for the conditions, pack emergency gear in case the forecast is wrong and let someone know your plans before you head out.
