David Jolly barely lost by 20,000 votes.
Over 34,000 people voted Libertarian.
Completely wasted votes and I said wtf I said.

This is a great example of 2 things: 1. How politicians package things have massive influence. 2. Not understanding 2nd order effects are often as meaningful or more meaningful than 1st order effects.
This law benefits me. I voted against it. It is a power play wrapped as a tax break. Homestead taxes go to local governments, not the state. This law moves money from local budgets to state control. It starves local municipalities of funding, which will force them to bend to the stateβs demands to get their share of budget allocated. Police, firefighters, and EMTs are all funded by local taxes and will have lower budgets unless local govs do something to negate the loss. So to offset, counties and municipalities will have to institute local sales taxes to ensure they have the funding necessary to meet their budgets and provide critical services and infrastructure. This law gives the biggest tax breaks to those who own the largest homes and will force the average Floridian to pay higher taxes on everything they buy.
Voting matters. Know what youβre voting for.

Rural Florida loves shooting themselves in the foot. Half the state is flooding and they are voting for the people who didnβt want to fix the flooding issues and infrastructure. Canβt make this shit up
When the Disney company became so beholden to shareholders it stopped being Walt's Disney.

You shouldn't have to pay a price for choosing not to use AI.
βThis is a particularly clear example of the tech industry going out of its way to force A.I. on us all β even if we have said we donβt want it.β βMorgan Polikoff, USC
AI should always be a choice. Turning it off shouldnβt cost a school its search engine too.
Google is now threatening America's schools, saying they will turn off their core search functions if schools choose to entirely block AI.

My friend is a pediatric speech-language pathologist. I asked her why ADHD kids interrupt, talk over people, and argue like tiny courtroom lawyers at the dinner table. I showed our family ADHD coach her notes the next day and he said every parent needs these 5 rules on their fridge. Here is what they both agreed on:οΏΌ1/6

Worth noting in the last 3 years that Floridaβs republican governorship vetoed over $4 million dollars in drainage improvement projects in Palm Beach, Broward, and Miami-Dade counties alone.

Just gotta get consistent. Once the βNapierismβ is completely out of our program, weβre gonna be good. You canβt come in year 1 and fix 4 years of fuckery without some adversity.
