P2P crypto trading has a settlement problem since years ago the blockchain can verify that tokens moved, but when the other half of the deal happens through a traditional payment service, how does a smart contract know the fiat payment actually went through? imagine a P2P trade where the seller locks USDC in an onchain escrow while the buyer pays through a service like PayPal. instead of relying on a screenshot or a message claiming the transfer is complete, the buyer could generate a zkTLS proof of the relevant payment details, the contract can then verify the proof against the conditions required for releasing the funds. that is what behind the @primus_labs docs, they wanna fix it and bring a optimization to us the important distinction is the payment takes place off-chain, but evidence of that payment can be verified on-chain. this is the kind of bridge that could make existing Web2 payment services more useful in crypto transactions, without requiring counterparties to rely solely on trust. sometimes, the most useful blockchain innovation isn't moving assets faster, it's making the conditions for moving them verifiable
