the internet used to be such a magical, wonderful place. it was so so SO good. i really do believe smartphones and algorithms robbed us of this joy
Firefox

How is the internet less private than in 2006, when the whole family shared one computer? Back then, the internet was weird, personal, and all of ours. So, we got your favorite meme legends back together to say it louder: What happened to the internet? 1/3

i keep thinking about that artist that turned down £8,500 for the license for their song to be in GTA VI, citing that GTA V made billions and it wasn't fair. i wonder if they realise that it was a huge mistake yet?

in June 2007, i headed up the trailer analysis on the GTA forums - specifically the vehicle identification / speculation. here are my first screen grabs from back then. so exciting then, so exciting now with the recent launch trailer

i just pre-ordered the 'physical code in box' edition of GTA VI. simply as an artifact to keep hold of in the collection.

this isn't to replace my ultimate edition digital preorder - this is alongside it so i get the box / map

when that voice says "grand theft auto 6 - coming november 19 - rated M for mature" it's SO nostalgic. i remember watching vice city trailers in quicktime back in 2002 and it had that same voice. can't believe we're almost here man 😭

this is AWFUL. I wanted to want one of these (consumerism etc) but after watching the launch trailer i couldn't think of a worse way to go about my day to day.

Just finished GTA Vice City Stories. Amazing game. You can tell they were just having fun and building on top of a really strong existing foundation. No joke, might be the best 3D era GTA in a lot of ways!

Today on the 2006 archive, here is a cover I designed for GTA San Andreas Stories - a game that didn't exist and never would. It features many of Rockstar's trademark design elements, like licensed vehicles, reused art assets from previous games, and a helicopter in the bottom left. Nobody was fooled.
