Good luck explaining causality to the guy who just learned what “percent” means.
Cowboys are 49-6 with Dak when the run it at least 50% of the time on early downs.

Only one NFL weekend since the start of the 2010 #NFL season has recorded a higher penalty per game average than what we've seen in Week 4, 2026
That was Week 2, 2015 , averaging 18.6 penalties per game
We currently have an avg of 17 penalties per game this week, so unless #ATLvsNO on MNF has 40+ penalties to increase the overall avg, the 2015 record will remain at the top of this list

#NEvsSEA NFL season opener officiating crew cheat sheet
An above avg 43% of referee Adrian Hill's overall penalties were assessed via OFFENSIVE HOLDING/FALSE START in 2025,vs the #NFL avg of 38.2%
Hill's crew ranked No.1 for OFF-HOLD penalties per game & No.6 for FALSE START per game
The emphasis on these infractions contributed to Adrian Hill recording an NFL leading 10-5 UNDER record in 2025
Adrian Hill officiated contests go UNDER the total at a 56% rate in his career
Defensively, Hill's crew had two areas of focus; ILLEGAL CONTACT & DEFENSIVE PASS INTERFERENCE , categories they ranked first & second in respectively (based on per game avg)
Hill officiated contests recorded the second lowest THIRD DOWN CONVERSION success rate of all officiating crews in 2025
#NEPats & #Seahawks were superb from an overall penalty & discipline perspective in 2025
If the #Patriots had a weakness it was FALSE STARTS, particularly on the road, where they ranked a top 10 penalized road team in this category last season
That looms as a potential problem at Lumen Field, where the Seattle defense + home crowd have ranked as a top ten home field beneficiary of FALSE STARTS on opponents in seven of ten seasons over the past decade, including 2025
Seattle had one game with Hill in 2025, a grinding 18-16 last second win vs Colts in Week 15
Ill be curious to see how Seattle offense looks after the departure of Kubiak/Walk
er in off-season
Both teams will need to be buttoned up along the offensive line w' this crew in charge & keep errors to a minimum
The reality is excess offensive holding &/or pre-snap infractions will make life extremely difficult for both offensive units vs the opposing defenses in this match-up
For a selection, not going to overthink this one
The NFC is better than the AFC in my opinion & #Seahawks at home with the 12's will be tough to beat, & lean @Seattle -3.5 pts on Wednesday night
Realy happy that football is finally back
Good luck to everyone in the 2026 NFL season

#NFL penalty per game avg info as we approach the start of the 2026 season that will impact your teams playoff chances
Only one team this century has led the NFL in penalty per game avg & won the Super Bowl - the "Legion of Boom" #Seahawks in 2013
In 2025, only 3 of the top 10 teams in penalty per game avg made the playoffs (Eagles/Broncos & Jaguars)
Conversely, 6 of the 10 least penalized teams in per game avg made the postseason in 2025
The gap widens when we zoom in on PRE-SNAP infractions
Just two of the top 10 penalized teams in pre-snap per game avg made the playoffs last season (Bears/Chargers)
But of the ten LEAST penalized in pre-snap per game avg, 7 made the playoffs in 2025, including both Super Bowl participants
In the expanded Wild Card era (2020-2025), of the ten least penalized teams (per game avg) 33% made the playoffs vs just 24% of playoff participants from the top ten most penalized
Furthermore, FIVE of the SIX Super Bowl champions in the expanded Wild Card era ranked as one of the bottom ten in penalty per game avg that season
The outlier was the 2023 Kansas City Chiefs, & they sat just outside the ten least penalized teams that season
PRE-SNAP infractions in the expanded Wild Card era have an even bigger impact on a teams playoff hopes, with the bottom ten in pre-snap per game avg accounting for 37% of all playoff teams since 2020, vs just 23% for teams ranked in Top Ten pre-snap per game avg
Those are a few key historical trends & chances are the eventual Super Bowl winner in 2026 will be one of the least penalized, particularly as it pertains to PRE-SNAP infractions
