The hardest part of coaching is not teaching a skill.
It's creating an environment where players figure out why, when and how to use the skill.
Player development should not be measured by how many moves a players has.
It should be measured by how many problems can they solve.
We spend to much time teaching players what to do.
We don't spend enough time teaching them when to do it.
What's the best way to develop your weak hand?
Ball handling.
Get elite at handling the ball and your weak hand will follow.
Don't hinder your players development by not giving them different oppurutnies on court.
Give them a chance and if they aren't good in that role adapt.
A made shot is not the right way to measure a good possession .
Did your players make the right reads to get that shot or not?
Practice and training should expose weakness not hide them.
If players only succeed in controlled drills, oyu may be creating false confidence.
