As a Christian, I have been trying to understand what I see happening to my country over the last few years. With the return of Jerusalem to the Jews, we reach the end of what Jesus called, "The Time of the Gentiles". Luke 21, 24 And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled. At the end of such an era comes judgement. Everything is tested by fire and only what is true survives. What doesn't, never was. The English have a decent shout to be the oldest contiguous nation on the planet. Even the Anglo-Saxons made up only 25% of the new population. We are the same as we always were. From the book "The Seven Daughters of Eve" by Bryan Stokes, I came to the conclusion that the English were almost certainly the remains of that nation that Scripture calls "The Kittim", which makes a lot more sense of the later end-time prophecies! For anyone who wonders if Scripture supports this idea, I'd point them towards the prophecies against the nations made by Balaam, particularly towards Asher (the ruins of Asher are about six miles from the town of T'krit). From 300AD until very recently, the English as a whole were Christians. Christianity formed the entire foundation of their society. They instituted the Parliamentary Democracy, the independent judiciary, the apolitical Civil Service and the absolute freedom of speech and thought which ensure freedom for all. These ideas they spread though the whole world and wherever they have been adopted (or survived independence), those nations are the freest on the planet. For about 200 years, England (and later Britain) was the centre of the propagation of the Gospel throughout the world. Oh, and they ended slavery over a quarter of the globe. For those who believe the English are irredeemably racist, at the height of the Empire, a memo was circulated throughout the Colonial Service which stated: "In the Colonial Service the one unforgivable sin is a sense of racial superiority." Whereas Ex-pats may have been racist, the Colonial Service itself was the first institutionally anti-racist organisation in the world! So where are they now, the English (and British)? Under judgement. If that judgement continues, in less than 100 years, the English as a race will have been all but eradicated. Do they deserve that? Well, yes, everyone does! Will that happen? I was on the point of thinking so, until I found a Scripture. This may be the most important Scripture I have ever found and for the moment I cannot move past it. It is in the Book of the Prophet Micah, in the last chapter and it states: Micah 7, 1-9 "Oh woe is me, I am as when they have already gathered the summer fruits and all the grapes are harvested. There is nothing to eat, no first fruit that my soul craves. "The faithful have been swept from the land - not one upright person remains. Everyone lies in wait for one another, each hunts his fellow with a net. "They give both hands to do evil; to do it well. The prince demands his price, the judge has his agenda, the great and the good speak only the evil desire of their souls and so they twist the course of justice between them. "The best of them is like a briar, the most upright like a hedge of thorns. The day of which the watchmen warned is come; the day God settles accounts. Now is the time of confusion. "Do not trust your neighbour, have no confidence in a friend, even from the woman in your arms, guard your lips. "For the son dishonours his father, a daughter rises against her mother, a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law - a man's enemies are those of his own household. "But as for me, I watch in hope for the LORD; I wait for my saviour. "Do not gloat over me my enemies, for though I have fallen, I shall rise. Though I sit in darkness, the LORD will be my light again. "I will bear the LORD's wrath and anger for I have indeed sinned against him. But when that is done he will turn again and plead my cause, and give me justice. He will bring me back to the light and I will see his vindication." You will not find these exact words in any single translation, since I compared 9 translations, one of them French, and went back to the Hebrew on almost every word. But this is the sense as best I can extract it. If any Ancient Hebrew experts ever see this, then they can correct any bit of it I have wrong. Around the turn of the millennium, I was invited to a conference of the prophetic wing of the Christian Church in Britain. Of the 40 or so people there, most were proposing that we "declare Ichabod". I got very angry and predicted Brexit. I was the only one to do so. I also predicted that we would come through judgement and survive. Since then I have had my doubts, but since the one came true, I must believe the other. This Scripture gives me the hope that I was right on both. THIS is where we are. BTW, I was never invited back!๐Ÿ˜†

Here's Tim White's daily thread on events in Ukraine. He does this every day and is the simplest way of keeping up with events both military and political.
We are starting the 244th week of Russia's all out war. Putin's "second army of the world" is more than 1,700 days behind schedule in reaching Kyiv. Ukraine stands proud, stays free on Day 1706 of the Kremlin's full scale invsion. Here's my daily๐Ÿงต- gifts of coffee welcome!

Well, the Starlink/Starshield debate rages on with claim and counterclaim on both sides, and no doubt will further develop today. Details will be in this thread as ever:
Hello again and thanks for joining me on Day 1705 of Russia's attempt to remove Ukraine from the map. Time for another daily thread, with all the fact-checked news of the war in one handy thread, updated throughout the day, every single day, without fail.

On the sixteenth of December 1960 a twelve-year-old boy was put on a table in a San Jose hospital, given electric shocks until he was unconscious, and had an ice pick hammered through the thin bone above each eye and swept from side to side through the front of his brain, because his stepmother had told the doctor he was defiant. The doctor's fee was two hundred dollars. Howard Dully was a big, clumsy, daydreaming boy whose mother had died when he was five, and his father had married a woman called Lou who could not stand him. She took him to six psychiatrists. All six told her the problem was not the boy. The seventh was Walter Freeman, who had performed more lobotomies than any man alive, who drove between state hospitals in a van he called the lobotomobile doing them by the dozen in an afternoon, with no gloves and no surgical training, and who had once done twenty-five in a day. Freeman's notes on Howard, which Howard did not read for forty-four years, record the symptoms. He objects to going to bed. He turns the lights on when there is broad daylight. He does not react to love or to punishment. He has a savage streak. On that evidence, and Lou's signature, and two hundred dollars, Freeman wrote that the boy would benefit from a transorbital lobotomy and did it four days later. Howard remembers the table. He remembers waking with two black eyes and a fever and no idea what had been done to him, because nobody told him, then or ever. His father never spoke of it. Lou put him into a state institution the following year, and the boy with the holes in his brain spent the next forty years in and out of asylums, juvenile halls, a jail, halfway houses and the street, drinking, drifting, never quite able to say why he was the way he was, with a photograph that existed somewhere of a doctor in a suit standing over a child with a steel spike in each eye socket. At fifty-six, driving a school bus, he went to find out. He found his file in Freeman's archive at a university in Washington, in the doctor's own handwriting, and read for the first time what his stepmother had said and what the doctor had agreed to. He went to see his father, who was eighty, and asked him why he had let it happen, and his father said he had been bullied into it. Howard told the story on the radio in 2005 and five million people listened to a man weep over a piece of paper. Walter Freeman was not a quack. He was a professor of neurology, the man who had brought the lobotomy to America, and the operation had won its inventor the Nobel Prize for Medicine in 1949. The journals published him. The hospitals booked him. The newspapers called it a miracle. He did it to three and a half thousand people, nineteen of them children, and he kept doing it until 1967, when a patient died on the table and the hospital took his privileges away, and he spent his last years driving the country in the van looking up his old patients to prove it had worked. That is what settled science looked like from inside, to a twelve-year-old. A mother's complaint, an expert's confidence, a procedure with a prize behind it, two hundred dollars, and a lifetime nobody could give back. The same institutions now tell you what your child should eat, in the same voice, with the same certainty, and the leaflet has a logo on it. Howard Dully is in his seventies and still cannot say what was taken. Nobody ever apologised.

Another thread from Tim White this morning, soon after the end of the last one as he is travelling to foreign parts! But here are the details of today's events in Ukraine, as ever:
Saturday 24 October 2026 Did you know today is United Nations Day? Ah, how I long for the day when the UN was a force for good and stability. It's now effectively held hostage by malign actors. It's one big reason Ukraine is still fighting for survival on Day 1704. Here's the๐Ÿงต

Tim White drags himself in front of a keyboard after a long, long flight to bring you fact-checked reports from Ukraine, as he does every day! Every single day...
It's so daunting on the very slim occasions when I start the daily thread so late. So much to catch up on. Missiles hitting a Russian military plant, a POW exchange, another ship sunk in Romanian waters, a 'ceasefire' in Oleshky and the latest on peace talks. It's Day 1703

This is fundamentally true:
Every one of us started out as a mental communist. A very small child believes that wishing makes it so. The world revolves around him. Food appears, toys appear, someone else pays for everything. When reality says no, he cries: "It's not fair!" And when something breaks, it's someone else's fault. Normally, children figure out around four that it isn't so. The mental communist doesn't. The rest of us learn it from reality. The stove is hot. The toy breaks. The friend leaves. Wishes don't move the world; work does. Freud called it the passage from the pleasure principle to the reality principle. It is called growing up. The mental communist never made that passage. He is fifty years old, and still four. Why? Because he was protected from reality for too long. A comfortable home, endless studies, a job in an institution where being wrong costs nothing, and a state that plays the parent. Peter Pan was the boy who wouldn't grow up. Today Neverland has a campus, a newsroom and a ministry. And so the fantasies became delusions. A child's fantasy is soft. It gives way when reality pushes. A delusion is hard. It survives every piece of evidence โ€“ that is what makes it a delusion. You recognize the grown child easily. The tantrum when reality says no โ€“ today we call it outrage. Rights without duties. Someone else always pays โ€“ only the parent has become the state. Every failure is someone else's fault: he started it. And the imaginary friend โ€“ "humanity," "the people," "history" โ€“ who always agrees with him. Here is the danger. A child's fantasy is guarded by his parents. A grown man's delusion is guarded by power โ€“ and paid for by everyone else. What grows people up is what it always was: consequences, work, responsibility for someone other than yourself. And nothing ends a fantasy faster than your own baby crying at three in the morning. A civilization is built by adults. It cannot be run from Neverland.

Well, I am not surprised one little tiny bit. I never thought for one moment that it was Elon - I could see no upside for him. I could see it for Trump, but not Elon. Who benefits? That's who did it. And Elon turned it back on! I think some people need to apologise, but I bet they don't!๐Ÿคจ
Trump admits inadvertently that Starlink WAS turned off on Ukraine and Elon Musk turned is back on. "Whether I called or someone else called, doesn't make any difference the bottom line is he put it back."

It is hard to watch America move so firmly and unequivocally onto the wrong side of this conflict, and all for domestic politics. It's similar in its way to Chamberlain and Hitler, complete with the lavish, fawning praise...
Day 1702. We go again. Hours after Steve Witless, trump's financial envoy, called Putin "a humanitarian", predictably the indicted war criminal inhumanely ordered one of the biggest ever missile strikes on Ukraine. All the details, like every day, in my daily thread:

I want to say thank you to everyone who has supported Ukraine throughout these years and ask for your help in the end of this text, please read the whole post and repost it greatly helps. Today, russian terror continues all across Ukraine. Unable to make progress on the battlefield and achieve control over the Donbas, russia has switched to terror against Ukrainian cities. Hundreds of families, children, and their mothers are being killed with no military objective. The only objective is terror, to make Ukraine unlivable, to make its people surrender. As if that terror weren't enough, russia uses its influence over the US administration to pressure Ukraine into surrender. The results are quite depressing. The death toll is terrible. Images of dead Ukrainian children and entire families are being suppressed by social media platforms run by russia-aligned oligarchs. Ukraine is in a very tough position. But even considering all of that, Ukraine is still standing and holding off russian aggression. The voices of traitors and enemies are getting louder: "Just die and let us move on to the next target." You must understand exactly that. The goal is not to make Ukraine surrender so that it's all over. The goal is to destroy the precedent. The goal is to remove Ukraine as an obstacle to further conquest and terror against those who remain free. I know it sounds dramatic, but if history teaches us anything, it's that after devouring one target and celebrating its success, the monster will only grow hungrier. Most citizens of the West live without thinking about the death and suffering that could be unleashed against them. They think that wars against them are a thing of the past, and that the protection provided is guaranteed. It's not. The main message to Ukraine from tyrannical dictators and wannabes is that it's not a real country, that it's Ukraine's fault, that Ukraine started the war. The gaslighting is there to make sure that no one will support you. If you think someone will come and help you, that may not be the case. The techno-oligarchy will launch a wave of gaslighting, making the victim into a villain, an aggressor who could have just surrendered to stop the terror and suffering it inflicted on itself. But Ukraine still stands, and it needs help. Today, I'm fundraising to help Ukraine get critical engineering machines. These machines build shelters and bunkers that protect people from russian missiles, drones and bombs. These are excavators that dig deep into the ground to help Ukraine survive. Our goal is to raise $100,000, and we're already 65% of the way there. I'm asking you to donate, like, and share this message. I want to say thank you to everyone who has supported Ukraine throughout these years and ask for your help in the end of this text. donation link: givebutter.com/liberty-enginโ€ฆ

Churchill famously said of America: "They can be relied upon to do the right thing, but only when they have tried everything else first." Unfortunately we are still stuck in the first phase. America is in the process of trying to debauch an entire nation. Details here as always:
Day 1701 of Ukraine's battle for survival. There is a growing fear that the country's fate may be decided by the Trump-Putin alliance in the next two weeks, as a 'Useful Idiot' estate agent arrives in Russia. Just like every single day of the war, I'm back with THE daily๐Ÿงต
