Intense clashes are underway in Haiti between Salvadoran special forces and armed gangs as part of a major rescue operation authorized by President Nayib Bukele to recover four Salvadoran aviation technicians kidnapped after an ambush.

Don’t care how many Haitians whine about it, it’s unfathomably based when your country cares enough about getting you out they send their best. It’s why the US did the same for the downed pilots.

If you want to know why Japan loves America so deeply, go to a quiet elementary school in Ishinomaki and say one name:
Taylor Anderson.
She was twenty-four years old, from Richmond, Virginia.
Since she was a little girl, her dream was to come to Japan and build a bridge between our two countries.
On March 11, 2011, at 2:46 PM, Taylor was standing in a classroom in Ishinomaki teaching English to Japanese children when the 9.0 earthquake shattered the coast.
The ground buckled. Power died. Snow began to fall.
Outside, the tsunami sirens began to wail across the port:
A MONSTER WAVE IS COMING. RUN FOR THE HILLS.
Taylor’s red bicycle was parked right outside the school gate.
She was twenty-four and athletic. If she had gotten on that bike when the bell rang, she could have reached high ground in five minutes.
Did Taylor leave?
NO.
In the freezing schoolyard, Japanese seven-year-olds were crying in terror, waiting for their mothers and fathers.
Taylor refused to abandon her post.
She knelt in the snow at eye level with those trembling children.
She held their small hands, wrapped them in warmth, and smiled so they wouldn't be afraid.
One by one, as frantic parents arrived, Taylor handed each child safely into their mother's arms.
She did not get on her bicycle until EVERY SINGLE CHILD was safe.
Fifteen minutes later, on her way home, the 30-foot black wall of the Pacific Ocean reached her street.
Every student Taylor guarded lived.
Taylor did not.
And here is what shattered Japan’s heart all over again:
When her father, Andy Anderson, flew from Virginia to the ruins of Ishinomaki to bring his little girl home, he didn't blame Japan.
He looked at the surviving children crying in cold shelters, and he made a vow:
“Taylor came here to love these children. Her mission is not finished.”
Her American family took the donations from her funeral and built wooden reading libraries—“Taylor Bunko”—inside the schools of Ishinomaki so her children would always have books, warmth, and a place to dream.
A twenty-four-year-old daughter of Virginia gave her life so Japanese children could grow up.
Tell me another nation on earth with a heart like that.
Thank you, Taylor. You are Japan’s daughter forever. 🇺🇸🤝🇯🇵

South Korean Presidential Office:
"It is factually incorrect and inappropriate to publicly claim - based on individual transactions for which key facts have not been verified - that South Korea acted in a manner inconsistent with existing sanctions policies against Russia."
Presidential Office also called on Ukraine to "not distort South Korean policies or make remarks that may undermine South Korea's position without factchecking"

31 killed in Pakistan after mosque-bombing and 20 hours of fighting against security forces by the Pakistani Taliban (TTP).
The attack against the Old Police Lines complex in Kohat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa started yesterday with a VBIED (truck bomb) attack against a mosque inside the police compound during Friday prayers.
Then several gunmen entered the facility, which houses Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) and Special Branch offices.
More than 100 people wounded.

I’m typing this through my tears. My wife is back in the hospital after another episode. I’m doing my best to be strong in front of her and her kids but I don’t feel very strong right now. We need prayer warriors and we need them strong.

My American brothers and sisters, 🇺🇸
I saw a news story saying that some people from overseas think ¥70,000 (about $470) for one night at a hotel is cheap.
Is that really true?
Or do you think ¥70,000 per night is expensive too? 🤔

This Roof Inspector was caught saying
“I’m going to make this kid rip his whole roof off”
Before he ever went onto the roof
We documented with police and we
sent the city email and went in person
to tell them he is Menacing
He followed our Roofer off the job using his city truck to try to force them to stop and talk to him
They told him only talk in front of the homeowner
The Roofers know the city inspectors run scams that they no longer want to be forced to participate in
The city officials were told all of this
And absolutely nothing gets done about it
The residents get harassed even more

News from the Russian car industry: Lada presented what they call “the most powerful upgrade for the Niva car in its entire history.”
However, as usual, Russians were deceived: since the first Lada Niva was released in 1977 (photo), absolutely nothing has changed in its appearance.
The main changes the Russian manufacturer is proud of are automatic window regulators and a transfer case now controlled by one lever instead of two. They also added Chinese multimedia from Temu.
This madness has something in common with Putin’s rule in Russia: with every “historic upgrade” it only gets worse, yet it is presented as a great update.

In Japan, kids almost never set up lemonade stands.
But in America, it feels like a classic childhood memory.
Did you ever have a lemonade stand? I’d love to hear your story.

New video on our push for the South Korean prosecutors to appeal the Johnny Somali verdict and ask for more jail time - 6 months is not enough.

The Grey Line 01 retweeted
We are petitioning the prosecutors office to move swiftly to file the appeal for a longer sentence (2 or 3 years), and putting together the relevant case law citing Korean cases far less severe than Johnny Somali (Ramsey Khalid Ismael) that received far more time behind bars

I was in the courtroom for Johnny Somali’s verdict. The second he walked in, his eyes were completely dead and lifeless.
Zero trolling, zero antics toward the press and creators. He wouldn’t even look at us. He knew he was screwed.
And he was so desperate that he lied about still being an ASU student (he already graduated) and tried to say that he missed his family lol.
Sad. Hope harassing Koreans and being a public nuisance was worth the hard labor and prison time. But I hope that the prosecutor appeals because 6 months is not enough. WE WANT THE MAXIMUM SENTENCE!
Good luck Johnny!

The disintegration of PPP is accelerating as Hong Joon-pyo endorses DPK candidate Kim Bu-gyeom for next mayor of Daegu, not a PPP candidate
Daegu is a PPP stronghold like California is for US Dems, but recent poll numbers show that DPK has a good chance of flipping it.
