🚀 Today we launch RESPOND‑US to ensure America is medically ready on day one of any crisis.
We are bringing experts together to form a modern, unified trauma system that is capable of saving lives when seconds matter.
It’s time to RESPOND. Join us: respond-us.org/
🤝 Leaders from Womack Army Medical Center and @NMCCLejeune are working together to share lessons and improve how @USArmy, @USNavy and @USMC medical teams prepare to care for service members.
Strengthening those connections now is what medical readiness is all about.

🚙 Is the @USArmy rolling out a new driving force in surgical care?
The 30th Medical Brigade is testing a new mobile surgical van that can help medical teams bring surgery closer to injured soldiers faster than ever before.
Innovations like this support RESPOND-US's mission to improve trauma care and help save lives when every minute matters.

🧠 Nearly 97% of soldiers have completed the @USArmy's Neurocognitive Assessment Tool, establishing a baseline to monitor brain health and support recovery from traumatic brain injuries.
RESPOND-US is glad to see service members preparing to protect their cognitive health before seeing combat.

🩺 @USUhealthsci 2026–2029 strategic plan recognizes a difficult reality: in an evolving transforming combat landscape, the Golden Hour may not exist.
For RESPOND-US, this reinforces why military-civilian trauma readiness must be built before the crisis, not during it.

🏥 Congratulations to RESPOND-US member @genevaUSA — one of four recipients of @ASPRgov's new $2M Trauma Care Readiness and Coordination Program.
Their project will connect military and civilian health partners through a shared, near-real-time dashboard of medical capacity, strengthening trauma care and disaster resilience.
That’s the military-civilian integration RESPOND-US works towards.

Every study of combat casualty care says the same thing: trauma readiness can't be built after the shooting starts.
RESPOND-US applauds @RepJasonCrow and @RepJeffCrank for introducing the Combat Care Act which would build interoperable trauma systems with our Indo-Pacific & Arctic allies before a crisis hits. 💪
Medical readiness is a warfighting requirement. We commend Congressmen Crow and Crank for their leadership and urge the House to move this legislation forward.

🧠 A new House Oversight report finds the Navy has done little to study whether the extreme stresses of naval aviation cause lasting brain injury, despite concerns linking these injuries to suicide.
Our servicemembers deserve a system that can study, understand, and act on the injuries they carry — seen and unseen.

📊 Military medicine is preparing for a more complex battlefield — with data.
@DoD_DHA is extending the Joint Trauma System's data-driven model into a new Joint Warfighter Health System spanning mental health, TBI, and infectious disease.
Readiness is built through research, data, and real-world experience — not assumed. That's the alignment RESPOND-US works for.

🤖 In the next fight, the medic may not reach the wounded — and evacuation may not come.
@BusinessInsider reports on U.S. and Ukrainian efforts to build AI tools that guide troops through battlefield trauma care when they're on their own.
As RESPOND-US Strategic Advisory Council member Dr. Travis Polk puts it, care has to reach the wounded wherever they are.

🤝 PARTNERSHIP ANNOUNCEMENT: We're proud to welcome the @theTHORnetwork — the Trauma Hemostasis & Oxygenation Research Network — as a RESPOND-US partner.
For 15+ years, THOR has united military and civilian providers worldwide to reduce death from life-threatening bleeding , a leading cause of preventable battlefield death.
We're honored to work together to advance trauma readiness.

Today we remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost on 9/11.
We owe it to them — and to every servicemember lost in the wars that followed — to have learned from their sacrifice and to do better for those who serve today.
At RESPOND-US, that means carrying hard-won battlefield medical lessons forward, not relearning them in blood.
Today, we remember. And we recommit. #NeverForget

Penn Presbyterian's Level 1 Trauma Center treats 3,000+ critically injured patients a year — with a facility built to move a patient from helipad to trauma bay in just over a minute.
This is exactly the kind of civilian trauma capacity national readiness depends on. RESPOND-US is honored to have them in the coalition.

🔬 A milestone for military medical innovation: @WRNMMC_DHA's 3D Medical Applications Center has secured FDA clearance for a 3D‑printed, patient‑specific titanium cranial implant — believed to be the first ever granted to a point‑of‑care institution.
Developed with 3D Systems and the @DoD_DHA, it will treat warfighters with traumatic head injuries worldwide. Care delivered closer to the point of injury is exactly the readiness the next fight demands.
RESPOND‑US is working to accelerate that innovation.

⏳ In the next war, wounded troops may wait days — or weeks — for evacuation.
Contested airspace and drone surveillance can delay or deny evacuation, forcing medics to sustain critical patients far longer than the system was built for. Prolonged‑care expertise exists but mostly in special operations, while the trauma experience of the last two decades retires with it.
Readiness can't be assumed. RESPOND‑US is working to align military and civilian care and build a system ready on day one.

🧑⚕️Readiness starts long before the next conflict.
At the 2026 Military Health System Conference, military leaders discussed the "Walker Dip" and the importance of sustaining clinical skills between conflicts.
At RESPOND-US we believe preparedness must be trained, sustained, and strengthened every day.
