I have very exciting news that we have been working on for a long time and it’s now official. Protect a Volunteer now has a Memorandum of Cooperation and Interaction with the Foreign Recruitment Center of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. For OPSEC purposes I am not sharing the exact details of the agreement. However we are looking forward to working on the shared goals of helping more foreigners come to assist Ukraine’s fight and provide them with appropriate support once they arrive.
Ukraine’s defense of its own territory is remarkable; so are the contribution of foreign volunteers who fight with them. Integrating thousands of volunteers coming from all around the world has not been easy. It understandably took time for Ukraine to formalize a system to be able to expand their recruitment of foreigners as well as the opportunities they have in Ukraine. Now that it is formalized under a central command we are looking forward to working together.
We will have a lot of updates soon regarding this partnership.

This shit is so incredibly ugly. I oppose Abdul el-Sayed's candidacy, as many do, because of his radical associations, record of dishonesty, and policy/ideological agenda.
But a lot of the right-wing backlash against him seems to be pretty blatantly bigoted and just about his race/religion. That's awful. And I don't think it's going to work in Michigan.
Beamer on El-Sayed: He has a birth certificate but he's not an American. He had the choice to be an American or not. He has chosen otherwise. He has blood that's red. However, he has chosen to remove any strain of the white and blue part in his blood. We cannot allow this man to invade and, occupy our country.
(He is an American)
Someone did the math to back up my Cheesecake Factory theory that people in flyover country don't even know it.
I love everything about the Cheesecake Discourse first and foremost because it is a throwback to Republicans trying to otherize Obama on some absurdist terms (arugula, dijon.) But it doesn’t fucking matter bc his popularity is insane and the joke fucking killed.
Another fun thing! Rs have been snookered into defending Cheesecake Factory as tho it’s a treasure of the heartland! Of the 216 locations, guess how many sit in precincts won by Harris? 166 (77%). The median margin was Harris +21.

It’s telling that many on the left are like “I hope he loses” over this one issue but then they’re looking for the fairing couch when a Jewish person says the same thing about El Sayed for excusing antisemitism.

“I’m rooting for more Republicans to win so they can continue actively harming the trans community because I don’t like Democrats trying to win elections despite the fact that they would treat the community better and listen to their concerns.”

He may very well be the deciding vote on legislation that makes everyone's lives better.
We can either have him win and pressure the crap out of him to not be anti-trans, or help his opponent get elected who voted against the Equality Act and for the Defense of marriage Act.

Gay rights activists literally did this. They swallowed doma in exchange for FDA funding for aids research & medication, they ate DADT to not get fired from jobs. Obama famously was against gay marriage in 08, they didn’t pout, they remembered the bigger picture & got favorable scotus seats under both Dem admins

All I’ll say abt the Turek ad is a lot of you have trouble acknowledging that what might not be a big issue for you might be one for large swathes of people becuz you don’t like that it is or want it to be . That goes for trans issues or CJ reform or spending or migrants etc

there's a funny kind of online partisan who thinks that the Democratic Party should (or even could) have Stalinist-level party discipline across literally every single English speaking person who is not a Republican
I actually looked up where the Cheesecake Factory locations are and it’s all cities and suburbs, mainly the coasts. Most of flyover country doesn’t have one anywhere close and has never even been to one.
Ironically both sides are arguing that working class/poor/rural people shoulf be offended and those people aren’t going to care about a place they have never been to.
They would care if it was Texas Roadhouse.

Honestly, I still haven’t been able to recover from last night. My hands are still shaking.
A russian drone struck a residential building just a short distance from us. The third floor collapsed onto the second. Four apartments were completely destroyed, and a nursing home was also damaged. And, of course, windows were blown out in many other places.

This is a false comparison. We literally voted in the guy who initially said he was against gay marriage, and then we used our political capital to push him left. If you just constantly scream at Democrats you’re not going to push them anywhere except away.

The entire right wing media apparatus taking up pistols at 40 paces to defend the honor of the Cheesecake Factory is exactly how I want to close out the election cycle. Thank you all for this.

A mother in Chernihiv meets the young man who shared captivity with her son.
Her boy was exchanged in 2024. This friend is an orphan — no relatives left. But in Russian captivity he became her son’s protector and brother.
Now he’s family. 💔🇺🇦

The @GOP must be thrilled that 11 days before elections, we learn that the Trump family secretly orchestrated a deal to allow Russians to drill Alaska in exchange for a $25 billion "investment" funneled through their proxies.

This is actually a condescending view of working-class people. I grew up in a working-class immigrant family and we ate at Red Lobster and The Cheesecake Factory for "fancy nights out." But even we understood that the White House should not look like the inside of a Red Lobster. Working-class people are not culturally illiterate just because their experiences are shaped by their limited means.

This should be one of the biggest stories of the moment. When a court blocks the Trump admin from deporting migrants to dangerous home countries, the government is sending them to 3rd countries with zero ties—who then send them straight to where they were fleeing. Lawless.
Within five days of being deported from the U.S., Moussa Diawara says Ghanaian officials forced him onto a flight to Mali, the very country a U.S. immigration judge ruled he could not be deported to. Diawara says he was homeless and went into hiding.

For those only now discovering Oleshky on the map of Ukraine: don’t Don’t forget the mothers whose children were abducted by Russia in 2022. They are still waiting for their children to come home. 🇺🇦
Russian forces took 84 children and adults with disabilities from the Oleshky Specialized Children’s home . Thirteen returned. Six died.
These children were not accidentally caught on a battlefield. They were taken from their residence, subjected to abuse, and separated from their relatives without communication or information about where they were being taken.
For three years, @emile_fondation has worked with relatives to trace them. Of the 69 residents we set out to find, we located 46. We submitted humanitarian requests to Russian and Ukrainian authorities, including seven completed case files seeking their return.
Yet finding them has not been enough to bring them home.
Almost five years into the full-scale invasion, are we seriously talking about peace without their return?
Russia’s deportation of Ukrainian children is documented. There is no evidence of a comparable Ukrainian campaign to abduct Russian children.
Listen to the mothers who travelled from Kyiv to Washington, DC. Hear what they have endured trying to bring their children home.
When you see and hear these mothers, you will understand that there is absolutely nothing to celebrate until every child is reunited with their mother.
