Sometimes there’s a nuanced argument to be had about someone legacy, about the timing of honest critique versus letting their loved ones mourn.
Not today though.
Today the world is just a little less racist, a little less cruel.
Increase that amount by doing something kind for someone who doesn’t look like you, whose life is harder than you can possibly imagine. Someone the world and the system have been impossibly unfair to. Do it in Sheffi’s name.
Because she would have hated that.
One of the things the Hasbarati LOVE to do is take a cause they do not support, and in fact actively campaign against, and co-opt it for their own agenda.
This rally was held by hostages and and victims of Oct. 7 and their families. For three years, they have been demanding a general commission of inquiry to investigate the failures of October 7, which the government refuses to do because they do not want the truth to come out.
There are literally dozens of influencers in Israel right now, not a single one showed up. Nor are any of them posting anything about it other than “Look at our democracy! We win again.”
The second the hostages came home and could no longer be used to defend Israel’s actions in Gaza or accuse anyone and everyone of antisemitism , the Hasbarists completely stopped talking about them.
Occasionally, when something good happens like a wedding or a birth, they will dust them off again for their “Am Yisrael Chai! This is what victory looks like!” propaganda.
But actually amplifying their pleas for answers? Acknowledging the families who feel deserted by their own government, both then and now?
Literally never.
Today, activists from Tzav 9 once again tried to block humanitarian aid from getting into Gaza.
I know that this doesn’t even come close to the actual bombs, especially since it is entirely symbolic. And yet I have always found it a uniquely horrifying act.
I cannot help but think about the mothers there, dressed in religious garb, who hours earlier packed up their diaper bags with the water bottle and the extra snacks and buckled their babies safely into their car seats. “Come on, little one, it’s time to make sure other children can’t have these same things.”
I think about them bringing their toddlers into the street to sit down in front of the trucks. Are they confused? Do they wonder why no one is yanking them back from the curb this time? Why they are not only allowed to play in the road, but their mommies seem to want them to?
And I think about my own kids. How difficult it is to navigate the enormous parental burden of instilling in them our values. How I never feel like I know the right thing to say, the best answer to give.
Still, I’m not sure I understand how you can have a child and also wish suffering on someone else’s.
Respectfully,
Kindly f*cking spare me with your anger over Brad Lander and the IMMEDIATELY debunked lie that they needed a permit to be there.
One day.
Jewish settlers beat the sh*t out of a journalist, a handful of Palestinians no one is talking about, and some diplomats and they were under arrest for one day.
And a bunch of “proud Jewish Zionists” I know have decided to divvy up their rage in the following way:
100% for Brad Lander taking a selfie while he was detained.
0% for the Jewish terrorists using the Torah to justify breaking a sixty three year old woman’s ribs and almost ripping her finger off. On Shabbat.
🚨Hasbara Warning🚨
“We were just lynched.”
Yeah, so I would be more inclined to take you seriously if 30 seconds after it happened you weren’t setting your “terrorist attack” to music and posting it in multiple reels.
“I’m just a regular person that was visiting “
No you’re not. You are full-time influencers who went on an organized trip with Regavim, the pro-settlement movement founded by Bezalel Smotrich and Yehuda Eliahu, hoping to get the exact experience you are now filming.
“I can’t really focus or be a person right now.”
But not to worry, I managed to pull myself together in order to churn out the content I came here for - the big “gotcha” of showing nice homes in Turmus Ayya, which somehow makes it okay that settlers beat the shit out of elderly Palestinian women because other Palestinians have two story houses.
1. The Bat Signal has definitely gone up because the Hasbaratti are pouring into Israel right now. (For the elections, possibly?) 😭
2. Which means we can expect lots of “Look, an Arab person literally allowed to exist! Apartheid accusation DESTROYED!!!” content in the coming days. 🙄
3. This woman definitely said to her friends, “Oh my God, look! Black people! I have to get a photo.” 😩
4. The fact that seasoned international war journalists are still not allowed into Gaza because it’s “too dangerous,” but the Real Housewives of Hasbara are being given the guided tour simply defies comprehension. 🤯
When it comes to the Hasbara talking points that get repeated over and over again, there are basically two types of people who regurgitate them.
The first group absolutely knows that what they are saying is Hasbara. They know what is an out-and-out lie, which facts they are leaving out, and which phrases they are manipulating to bend the truth. But they also know they have an audience that is desperate to be told they aren’t the bad guys, and they are more than happy to oblige.
That audience is the second group, the ones who consume the Hasbara and then pass it along. They are just so relieved to read something – anything – that will quell the nagging feeling that they might be on the very wrong side of things. (Social scientists call this motivated reasoning.)
Amit Segal is obviously in the first group – sourced up and completely aware of exactly how all of this works, but willing to debase himself for some of that sweet, sweet speaking engagement cash.
I do often wonder if he ever wishes he could be an actual journalist instead.
Lizzy Savetsky celebrating her birthday by joking she is the female version of Itamar Ben-Gvir. (Bat-Gvir - feminized version of Ben-Gvir)
Hundreds of thousands of social media followers. Lauded by the Israeli government and mainstream Jewish organizations alike. Awards. Paid appearances. Devoted followers thanking her profusely for her “Jewish heroism”
I wish that each and every person could represent themselves and only themselves but that’s not how the world works. This woman told the entire planet she speaks on behalf of the Jewish people and they believed her. Because barely anyone came forward to say, “no she doesn’t.”
Please stop wondering how things got this bad.
Please stop believing the Hasbarists who MAKE THEIR MONEY by convincing the rest of us that the world hates us for no reason while simultaneously giving them unending reasons to hate us.
In 2025, I was covering Flag Day in Jerusalem, the annual state-sponsored pogrom when @Heidiphotos and I found ourselves surrounded by a mob of extremists chanting “All Arabs are whores” and getting more and more aggressive, trying to take my phone and her camera. I was freaked, but Heidi took no shit from any one of them and walked us through the mob to safety. (That’s her in the blue shirt.) Afterwards, the police yelled at us for doing our jobs.
Heidi has an incredible eye and balls of steel. Hope she - and all the others who were attacked - makes a full recovery.
As we enter the home stretch in the lead-up to Israel’s election, the attack ads are growing more and more vicious.
Several candidates have now accused each other of the vile act of.. helping sick children in Gaza.
Tonight, Yoseph Haddad is firing back with his adamant denial: Come on guys. You know me. I would never ever help sick kids in Gaza. I was only pretending to in order to make Israel look good!
There truly is no bottom.
Haddad continues to expose just how widespread the moral rot of… SAVING GAZAN CHILDREN WITH CONGENITAL HEART CONDITIONS really is
This is not even in the top 1000 problems with this dispicable man but I have literally never seen A TRANSLATOR WHO COULDN’T TRANSLATE.
Every single thing about this is embarrassing.
Also Ben-Gvir dropped the “voluntary” which he’s started doing more and more. The crowd added it back in.
Don’t fuck with us״.
No one needs to fuck with us. We’re doing an excellent job of fucking ourselves
Ignore! Ignore! Ignore!
I have been saying that since this asinine style of content first became popular, where the person acts as if they are bravely confronting someone, but they are actually talking to their phone because vapid narcissism and the insatiable lust for external validation through likes and retweets has replaced any semblance of real activism.
Without getting into the details of who he and they are, look how much dumber the content creator looks when the people he is “totally owning” just completely ignore him.
I don’t know why more people don’t do this more often. Instead, everyone falls right into the trap of the selfie confrontation and it kills me.
Yesterday was a chrystal clear reminder that Israel and Palestinian “advocacy” have absolutely nothing to do with Israel or Palestine.
You all might as well be arguing over which way to hang the toilet paper roll.
Thank you to every single one of the pro-Israel “why can’t we just have one day to mourn our dead” influencers who spent zero percent of the day mourning our dead and 100 percent of the day combing X for people to tweet “fuck you” at. I’m sure the bereaved families who are literally begging people not to forget their loved ones are incredibly touched.
Thank you to every single one of the pro-Palestinian “we won’t let you forget, not even for one day, the Palestinians who are still dying” influencers who spent zero percent of the day helping Palestinians who are still dying and 100 percent of the day accusing Mamdani of genocide. I’m sure the Palestinians who are literally begging people not to murder them are incredibly touched.
None of you did anything of value or consequence yesterday. None of you eased anyone’s suffering, made the world a better place, or ensured one less person would die tomorrow.
Yesterday I went to a memorial. I won’t try to describe what it was like because I no longer want to be part of the commodification of grief, but I will ask you one question:
When was the last time you were in the physical presence of another human being experiencing a genuine emotion… that you weren’t filming or posting about? If the answer is more than 24 hours, GO THE FUCK OUTSIDE. (And leave your phone at home.)
I really think we can stop talking about when AI will bring down humanity.
We are already there.
Put aside, for the moment, the fact that Bibi only spoke today because he is not welcome at the main memorial ceremony put on by hostage and bereaved families.
And put aside, for the moment, the fact that he used today’s ceremony to make more campaign promises about “finishing the job,” and “victory over our enemies.”
Every single network that played his speech in full is complicit.
If they had any integrity, they would have said, “We refuse to have any part in not only your cynical exploitation of the families’ grief and pain but in the endless cycle of senseless violence which has only brought - everyone, everywhere - more grief and pain.”
If they had any integrity at all, they would have aired only this 20 second clip of bereaved father Yaakov Godo interrupting Netanyahu, the only words of truth to come out of the entire speech.
