With an aim to celebrate the craft and artistry of local working people, @NewVicTheatre @RachelShenton are looking for adults for on-stage and off-stage opportunities to represent the many workers who shaped the city’s ceramics industry. #GladstoneGirls bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cry4…

@NewVicTheatre are looking for local people to join their Community Theatre Company for #GladstoneGirls - a new play written by Potteries-born, Oscar Award winning @RachelShenton In a previous column I wrote about how the New Vic’s eclectic 40th anniversary year programme which showcases its core values included this true story play about a group of female pottery workers who held a peaceful protest to protect their cherished ‘Curl Friday’ factory tradition. The story of community and togetherness told with heart and flair will be making its stage debut in Europe’s first purpose built theatre-in-the-round, which as Rachel remarked, ‘couldn’t be a more perfect home.’ newvictheatre.org.uk/new-vic…
