Eastern WA has a huge Spanish-speaking population, and coverage for that community would not be possible without bilingual multimedia journalist Johanna Bejarano! She translates, co-hosts weekly News Now videos and reports throughout the region - basically doing three jobs!

Hey all! I have a request: I'm working on a story about rural behavioral health care access. Interested in interviewing folks about their experience seeking mental health care in rural WA, ID and OR. If this applies to you, I'd love to talk! DM or email [email protected].

I was recently talking to a University of Washington alum who chuckled at my mention of food insecurity among UW students. “I don’t think any UW kids are starving,” they said.
Reminder that food insecurity is common on college campuses, even at “fancy schools.”
