A #solarstorm comes! NOAA & NASA predict the storm launched during the X1.6-flare will hit Earth late May 5. NASA indicates the shockwave will cause the main disruption, with the bulk of the storm missing us. Expect #aurora shows to reach mid-latitudes but quiet down quickly.

There is an outpouring of love remembering Dave G7DIU on the morning net. Sadly now #silentkey. He dedicated decades championing #HamRadio and supported all involved. He'll be greatly missed, but of course remembered in our radio stories for many years to come.

This is the best few quid I’ve spent in a very long time. This enables me to attach 5 mm thread onto any mount with a tripod thread. Which means it will hold the head of the FTM 500 (which takes a 5mm screw in the back).

Now disappearing, long wave radio broadcasts once gave a taste of far flung countries and cultures.
