About 70,000 tents sheltering displaced Palestinians were flooded in Gaza within roughly 12 hours of the season’s first winter storm. Aid groups say Gaza needs 200,000–300,000 new tents or caravans. They hold Israel responsible for restricting shelter materials, fuel and heavy machinery.

⚠️ Palestinian Health Minister Dr. Majed Abu Ramadan: “What is happening in Gaza is not a passing winter crisis. I urgently call on the international community, the United Nations, and health, humanitarian, and relief organizations to intervene immediately to save the lives of hundreds of thousands of displaced people in the Gaza Strip, following the flooding of thousands of tents with rainwater and the absence of basic safe shelter conditions. I warn of a catastrophic deterioration in health and environmental conditions, alongside growing risks of the spread of diseases and epidemics.”

How much suffering must the Palestinian people endure while world leaders do nothing? Is there no end to these horrors, no limit to the cruelty?

💥Hours before Gadi Eisenkot is expected to get the nod, Netanyahu posts a video, apparently new, in which he seems genuinely panicked, calls on his supporters to stop the formation of any new government by any means necessary, and threatens violence. For 11 days, no one has seen this man in public.

On Friday, November 6, a whirlwind—taking the form of a funnel-shaped tornado—struck the countryside of Amuda in Al-Hasakah, leaving a woman and her child injured, causing the collapse of homes and livestock sheds, and resulting in the death of livestock.

On Thursday I wrote about the 2014 injunction Russell Brand obtained against a woman who accused him of assault. I've now obtained the final order. It's breathtaking. She had no lawyer. No trial. Yet she was silenced for life - even barred from speaking to the police. 🧵:

Putin has consistently framed his savagery, in Ukraine as in Syria, in terms of a Holy War for Christianity, depicting himself as the defender of Christians, with his fascist fan club globally following suit, declaring themselves Crusaders, and describing Russia as the 'Third Rome' - but we're not supposed to mention all that.

I want to know the argument for data centres that makes accelerating the loss of the already too-scarce water supply, the basis of all life, worth it.
New documents released by the Scottish government under a freedom of information request show that data centres could cause water shortages, higher energy bills and power cuts. Sky's @emmabirchley explains. trib.al/ViooyB0 📺 Sky 501, Virgin 602, Freeview 233

Russell Brand is certainly another of Putin's red-brown poster boys, from being admiringly interviewed by @mehdirhasan for nominally progressive media like @HuffPost & treated as a credible voice on Syria (despite not knowing who Bashar al-Assad was) by @StWuk to cheerleading for MAGA with peers like fellow "legit journalist" Tommy Robinson & co.

In 2013, while Syrian revolutionaries met with either open hostility or a media brick wall, Mehdi Hasan & MANY other progressive figures feted Brand like a revolutionary icon - the gushing intro here is typical - "a true superstar - one of the world's most famous, most popular, most entertaining, most discussed public figures... a comedian, an actor, and now an activist too - you may have seen him with millions of others teaching Jeremy Paxman about the importance of revolution." youtube.com/watch?v=ijl4jL3H…

I don’t know. It feels obscenely stupid to start posting videos of my loved ones in Gaza right now, as their tents flood with rainwater in the middle of the night, as they sleep in damp clothes on soaked mattresses, and to think for a f*cking second that these images might move someone to save their babies, to protect what little dignity they have left. As if this time could be any different from last year, or the year before that, or the year before that. As if people around the world, especially those with the power to do something, might suddenly be moved by a family’s tent flooding with rainwater when the sight of hundreds of babies whose bodies were shredded by Israeli bombs was not enough to put an end to this. How many more times must we expose the suffering of the people we love, strip them of their privacy in their most vulnerable moments, in the desperate hope that someone, somewhere, might finally care enough to act?

“This water isn’t just rainwater. It’s sewage too.” Wading through floodwater more than half a metre deep on al-Jundi al-Majhool Street in Gaza City’s al-Rimal district on November 7, 2026, the morning after the first winter storm hit the Strip. Before the genocide, al-Rimal was Gaza City’s most upscale neighbourhood. Now its shops are swamped, cars are submerged along the roadside, and the tents of displaced families pitched in the area have become pools of sewage and mud, with women and children trapped inside. The water has nowhere to go. Gaza City’s municipality says the Israeli occupation destroyed more than 220,000 metres of sewage pipes and around 15,000 metres of stormwater drains during the war, cutting the system’s capacity by more than 80 percent. Earlier, it reported that seven of the city’s eight main sewage pumping stations had been knocked out and that mountains of rubble block the drains that remain. Municipal crews are trying to pump the water away, but the occupation’s siege has left them short of the machinery and equipment to do it. Gaza’s Government Media Office puts the storm’s direct losses at around three million dollars so far. “They fled the bombing, and now storms have caught up with them.” Source: khames.hasira (IG)

Heartbreaking footage of a woman in Gaza overcome with exhaustion and grief. Having already lost her home to Israeli bombing, now her family's tent is flooded in the torrential rains. So far, 70,000 tents have been submerged, and there have been over 1,500 distress calls from families there.

To put it briefly, the situation is devastating. Most of the displacement camps surrounding our clinic are completely flooded. Since this morning, families whose tents have been swallowed by the rain have been coming to our clinic, carrying their cold, shivering children in their arms, desperately looking for a dry place to shelter and somewhere to keep their little ones warm. #WoundedGaza

.@AbdulElSayed makes the fundamental point that criticism of Israel's misconduct is not necessarily a swipe at Jews any more than criticism of Egypt's misconduct is is a swipe at Arabs. If you don't care for human rights for all, you don't actually care about human rights at all.

التفاصيل 👇 verify-sy.com/ar/factcheck/P…
