16 issuers, including Microsoft, Alphabet and Goldman Sachs, have now objected to third parties tokenizing their shares for the planned OKX-ICE venue.
Tokenization without the issuer is a wrapper, not a share.
The telling detail: the updated notice now also lets issuers tokenize their own stock. That's the model that lasts.

I started my career in London in 2008, in sales & trading at Deutsche Bank.
The year the old financial system nearly broke.
Last December at Breakpoint in Abu Dhabi, I saw $BITBOND up on the big screen, right next to tokenized solana:XsbEhLAtcf6HdfpFZ5xEMdqW8nfAvcsP5bdudRLJzJp and $GOOGLX.
The markets I started in closed at 4:30. Internet Capital Markets never do.
Now Breakpoint is coming to London. 18 years later, I'm going back to the city where it all started for me, to see what markets are turning into.

Tokenization gets real when it touches funding markets. First institutional repo on Stellar, with Treasury-backed collateral settled onchain. This is the use case banks actually feel.

In 2019, a small Berlin company got a German regulator to approve a prospectus for a bond that existed only as a token. Bitbond joins CONF3RENCE 2026.
Founded in Berlin in 2013, Bitbond issued the first BaFin-approved tokenised bond in Europe and has since turned that experience into infrastructure: Token Tool for no-code deployment of audited smart contracts across eleven-plus chains, Offering Manager for the full primary offering — KYC, white-label checkout, card, bank and stablecoin payments, cap table lifecycle — and an advisory practice for structuring under MiCA, eWpG and the EU DLT Pilot Regime. Around 1.2 billion dollars in assets tokenised to date, with tier-one European banks, asset managers and corporate issuers on the client list.
Twelve years in a market that reinvents itself every eighteen months is its own kind of credential.
