The worst thing that could’ve happened was the level of news leaked to the public on transfer dealings. What happened to Cody happened to Diaz too. But it never came out till much later. The vitriol of opinion over every small turn in transfer dealings is toxic.

If PSG genuinely raised the asking price on Mbaye when Liverpool came to the table then that could show there’s some spite involved. Wouldn’t be surprised if Barcola deal collapsed because PSG refused to deal with #Lfc at a reasonable price in the end.
The way I see it, Jeff Bezos isn’t in this for the money. He’s invested in #LFC for the pride of owning an elite sporting institution. It’s a bit of a bragging right. And the thing about business folk is that they want to say they’ve helped build something massive.
He’s going to help the club reach a new commercial level and get himself known as the man who had a big hand in it. It matters to people of his level. Profits matter less. Not to say he’s going to pump endless money into it, but he’s less bothered about making a tonne of it.
My only concern in all of this is, that the two things that don’t change is the sporting people excelling at building such frameworks look after the matters on the pitch and around it. And that the locals and fans don’t bear additional costs. On that front Amit Bhatia is of note

For a 4th choice CB and cover at RB maybe the wages are a little high but great move if that lets us get Barcola over the line. I get the feeling it’s paving the way for us to trigger Quansah’s buy back once Virgil leaves. Liverpool do need to get Barcola over the line though.

Am I the only one who feels Gakpo could genuinely become a threat under Iraola. Generally crowded out in the final third last season but if others make a slight bit of space for him and give him a split second more time, it’s impossible to stop his shots from turning into goals.
Spurs interested in Gakpo but #LFC have had no contact or bids.
Liverpool looking to add to their attack rather than lose anyone.
Gakpo on a long-term deal and belief that Iraola will get best out of him.

I think we were aware this is happening and chose to get Munoz in for this reason. Unless Chiesa miraculously finds top gear under Iraola, we could be looking at another attacker with Barcola. Barcola, Munoz, Rio. Won’t be surprised if it’s Fernandez Pardo in next.
