Totoki-san is going to regret these choices in a few years. Not just because it drives customers away, but because a resurgence of physical media is coming. Ppl are getting tired of the subscription model and lack of ownership of what they paid for.
Sony's current CEO Hiroki Totoki is aggressively transitioning the company away from most physical electronic products that they are known for and have a deep history with.
- Tv (bravia products) division spun off
- Physical disc PlayStation games ending
- Ending 4k blu ray player production
- Exiting car stereo busines
- also no longer attending CES.
All this was announced over the last 12 months.
