I cannot quote the original post that started it all since DBD chickened out To the queer community: There is a serious problem within the queer community (and to a broader extent 'The Left') where you enable weird, rude and unhealthy social behaviour through toxic niceness/conflict avoidance. How the DBD community reacted to Peanut playing DBD and recieving gifts is frankly... appauling. Childish even. Gaming is for everyone, DBD is not a gay game, yes horror is heavily ingrained into gay culture but you do not get to claim DBD as your space and gatekeep other gamers out. You need to hold eachother accountable, not only is it what you should be doing in the first place but it is highly unlikeable. This ride-or-die, Us vs Them mentality where you support eachother no matter what it's regarding needs to stop. It's more narrow minded than a boomer who thinks sexuality is a choice and makes people think our mental faculties are broken... for some I fear they may be right. Maybe we wouldn't need "safe spaces" in the first place if you weren't a bunch of mentally incompetent tards that consistently does everything in your power to give people a real reason to dislike us. The only hatred I've seen from this whole drama is not coming from Burnt Peanut... it's you. There is a spot light on DBD right now, not because what they did was wrong, but because of how absolute bonkers parts of the gay community is right now (not just the gaymers). Sort yourself out.

This weekend, a Dead by Daylight team member awarded in-game content and currency to a creator streaming our game. Although it is not unusual to unlock content to give creators discovering DbD a chance to have a sneak peek at available content, this decision was made without receiving appropriate approvals. Furthermore, the team member's subsequent comments and conduct do not align with Dead by Daylight’s core values. When concerns about this decision became apparent during the stream, we should have responded by looking into these concerns, not dismissing them. Unfortunately, we’ve now seen the fallout of this decision unfolding in many conversations across the DbD community. We appreciate and stand with our community’s willingness to ensure our shared values are being upheld, at all times, regardless of popularity, and we’re heartbroken at the inflammatory language now being directed towards our community. At the same time, threatening employees will never be acceptable, and we’re asking everyone to stop engaging with these posts. We apologize to our community for letting you down. We have already begun reviewing our internal processes to prevent an incident like this from happening again.
